| Please help me. I am turning to you all again for your views on situation I am experiencing for the first time since I've owned yorkies in 38 years. I own a 2 1/2 year old female and a fourteen month old male. Friday I had the male neutered as he had been unable to be done earlier (health reasons). Today, Sat...he is doing wonderfully. This Morning when we were all up and about....I noticed my female was avoiding me...running away, hiding.....and when I reached for her she cowered away from me as if she was terrified or I had harmed her. Of course it goes without saying, if anything I am guilty of loving them too much .......I even broke down crying several times today. She'll come in the room and keep distance between us..... she looks at with such a strange look.....I did manage to get her to take a treat.. she runs away as soon as she takes it. She has never not cuddled with me when I lie down...and always ahead of me when I tell her its bedtime, as she loved nothing more than cuddling in the bed. I checked and rechecked her backside. Nothing. I did grab hold of her and talked softly while gently petting her, and I felt her heart race under my hand....and I released her. Please can anyone offer any suggestions? abbie506 |

| Not sure what could be wrong but my oldest female does this now since I added another female 5 months ago. I also have 2 males. My oldest female Tessie is spayed and Sassy will be spayed on June 14. but Sassy terrorizes Tessie biting at her especially if she is near me. Maybe your female senses something is different with the male and is nervous. Maybe she is jealous that you are giving him more attention since the surgery. Did they get along with each other before the neuter? Hope everything gets better.

| Has she been left with anyone, a groomer, vet, sitter, etc. recently? Has there been bad weather by you? Could she have gotten hurt recently? Is she left to free roam when you are out or is she crated?

| Hi ArmaniMan... Bad weather with respect to rain, and dark weather.....no storms or thunder. She is hardly ever alone.... Friday I left her only long enough to drive the male in for neutering and right back again....maybe 30 min tops. I am so baffled.... |

| I'm not sure what to say and am sorry you are going through this with your little one. Maybe she will be fine in the morning.

| Maybe the male smells different and now so do you, because of the vet. Maybe she connects the smell to the vet so is scared that she is next. Who knows what goes through there minds. I would watch for anything else, but give her a chance to relax. Also if Sofia has an accident in the house somewhere she will hide and act like we beat her, (as if). You might look around. I hope she gets back to her old self soon. |

| It sounds like she is in pain. Maybe she has a UTI? She really needs to be seen by your vet. There is something more going on with her behavior other than her not liking you. It really does sound like she is in pain.

| Sounds like she is some kind of Pain. Dogs will hide when they are not feeling well or hurt. I would DEFINITELY take her to the vet! |

| Aww, hun I'm sorry. Don't take this to heart, I don't believe it has anything to do with you. I have a feeling something is wrong like a UTI or something may be hurting. My dog acted like that once when she had an anal gland infection. She was always loving and then one day was not herself at all. I would see if you can see a vet is this doesn't improve. No worries, your baby still loves you! It's just too bad they don't have little voices to tell us what's wrong Keep us posted.

| hello special yorkie people... hugs to you all... this morning, I took sophie for a walk, she was so excited, about half way, after saying her name aloud alot...I picked her up held her securly and continued the walk. When we got back home....I got her cold water....and her favourite treat. then a drive, just the two of us.... Now she is letting me hold her ....and I even started her grooming session... giving her a break now... I will watch her very closely for next few days.... I do see a vast improvement though.....maybe she is just a little sensitive about all the care the little guy was getting after surgery. She is a Momma girl. Again I absolutely have to say what a wonderful forum this is... some of the best folks I have met online.....and so knowledgeable and caring with these amazing little creatures. I promise to keep you posted... Love from the maritimes abbie506 |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am happy to hear Sophie is getting back to normal. My Pixie has been acting strange for days now, not wanting to be confined in the whole back of the house where we all are. She is being treated for a UTI but I don't think that is what is causing her to act so strange. It's so hard to figure out what is going on in their minds.
