| Help aa spondylosis hip dysplasia Hi, my 5 year 3 pound old yorkie Chip was diagnosed with Atlanto Axial Disolacation at the age of 1. He was put on a neck brace and bed rest and recovered very well. All of a sudden today he lost mobility of all 4 legs. He cant get up or walk. The vet diagnosed him with severe spondylosis and hip dysplasia. He put him on prednisone and suggested we tried acupunture. Anyone here has had any success with acupunture? HELPPPPPPP. Im willing to do anything and pay anything to get my baby moving again. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Adriana |

So yes I have used Chiro and acupuncture for a low back injury. There was a mild improvement in symptoms in his case. I believe the efficacy of these two treatment modalities is entirely dependent upon the skill of the therapist. You will need to research out in your area who is best qualified. But I'd want a board certified orthopaedic surgeon to review his case, review the xrays, and would definitely seek a second opinion. The most effective modality for Magic's injury was underwater treadmill, hydrotherapy, massage, and appropriate exercise and crate rest restriction.

| With spondylosis, hip dysplasia, a history of AAI, and now a problem walking, your pup needs to be at a specialty hospital and possibly a veterinary school. Spondylosis is arthritis. They don't just go down like this that quickly from arthiris... And why if it's the hips is he having trouble with his front legs... Because of some things that can go on with the spine that require immediate intervention, if he is still not walking, I'd take him to the ER of a very trusted specialty hospital. If he is walking, I'd get an appointment ASAP.
