| Yorkie ate a maxi pad OMG - I came home from the store to find a shredded maxi pad in our bedroom. One of the dogs had jumped into the waste basket and got it out. I am freaking out!! What should I do? Any help would be appreciated! |

| Do you think any was ingested? I would watch very carefully- if your pup is not having regular bowel movements and/ or they start vomiting- get to the vet right away.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Can you get an idea of how much was eaten. Mine have a tendency to shred kleenex etc but mot ingest much. If he/she ate some you may want to call a ER vet as pads absorb fluids and could pose a danger. Keep us posted.

| Could possibly cause a bowel obstruction? Not sure so I would get to the vet and let him take a look. Better to be safe with your little one. I hope whichever one ate some is okay!

| Both of my yorkies have been known to go through the trash for those kinds of things. They more or less have shredded them and not actually eaten them. If you think it was just shredded, he'd probably be alright, but if you think he actually ate it, then definitely take him to the vet. It might be a good idea to at least call the vet to see what they advise one way or the other to see what they think it the best to do.

| Thanks for the replies - it looked more shredded, but hard to tell - we have 4 Yorkies, so I have no idea which one got into it. They are acting OK, and I will keep a close eye on their eating/drinking and pooping. Thanks for the concern...I will keep ya'll posted! |

| Yep! One has to be one step ahead of these dogs, they can be smarter than we are. Covered trash containers or closed doors.

| agreed- I always keep my bathroom doors shut, especially when I am gone, it is the last door I check on my way out of the house. Plus, the garbage can from the bathroom is always kept on the back of the toilet as an extra precaution.
