| help please!!!! quick please! ok my little millie has been fine, but tonight she was fine til about an hour ago. I sat down to watch TV and she was on the floor kind of walking around and kind of swaying. i got her to lay on my lap for a while, but she seemed really out of it. if her head wasn't laid against me, it was swaying or kind of jerking a little. i dont think it was a seizure. but like now she is really worrying me. i tried to coax her with a beggin strip, something she would normally swallow in seconds and she didnt want it at all. i took her to the bedroom to show my husband and she wouldn't even jump onto the bed-which right now is a mattress on the floor, not a huge jump. as soon as i put her on the bed next to my husband, she just kind of let herself slump against him and close her eyes... please help, i have no idea what it could be and im not exactly able to run to an emergency vet at the moment. please if anyone has any opinion or anything please let me know as fast as possible... |

| I have no advice other than to get her into a vet as quickly as you can. This sounds like an emergency situation, especially if the symptoms came on suddenly.

| You NEED to get her to the vet immediately. We cannot help you via an online forum. Please get to the vet NOW!

| I am so sorry. I would check her gums and see if the are pink if they are not her blood sugar may be down. Do you have any Nutrical or Karo syrup. If you have either rub that on her gums. I would recommend getting her to a VET!!! Really in situations like this we do not know what is wrong with your dog so the best suggestion is to get her to a VET as soon as possible.

| her gums appear pink, and she is completely conscious. i gave her just a bit of karo syrup. i looked up the symptoms for hypoglycemia and it kinda sounds like that. i will take her to the base vet first thing in the morning. for now, ill be staying up (its past midnight here) to make sure she doesn't get worse. my problem is that I am in germany and i have no idea where to find a 24 hour emergency vet. everything here closes at like 6 and on top of that i do not have the money to take her to a vet that will only accept euro. |

| You are in a tight spot right now, it's very hard when you are in another country and don't know where to go. (After this is all over you might want to look for resources for emergencies). Keep rubbing bits of karo syrup on her gums. As soon as she perks up a bit be sure to give her something containing protein (chicken breast, meat of some sort, peanut butter) to help keep her blood sugar up and more stable. Be waiting at the vet's office door when they open so she can be seen asap. Good luck to you guys, I'll cross my fingers for you. Please let us know what the vet says. Teresa |

| How old is she? Has she had any vaccinations in the past two months? Did she do any jumping off the couch or have any falls today? When did she eat last?

she did just throw up a little. it was brown (like her food kinda) and it had something that looked like a ziti noodle in it, kind of tube like...she is not allowed human food at all in my house so im not sure if it was or not or where she may have gotten it. she had some puke like this the other day as well and it just had crumbles of her food in it, but she didn't act any different that i noticed, but i wasn't home for her when she did puke, i was at work and came home to find the puke. but like i said she seemed perfectly fine. she is still a little shaky when she isn't laying down, but she wont leave my side now. i got up a few minutes ago to set my alarm and she sat up against my pillow til i came back to the bed. then as soon as i sat down she curled up into my lap. --i will say though, she is always very affectionate, especially towards me. she always shoves herself into my back to sleep and i don't think I've woken up in my bed without her laying in the crook of my arm. | |

| This could be any number of things. She could be coming down with aspiration pneumonia from vomiting, they can get it in their lungs, and get dizzy and disoriented from it (can cause a lack of oxygen). She may be running a fever from it. Or it could be Liver Shunt, or something neurological, from a fall or just landing wrong. Where did she get the human food from? If she raided the trash, she could have pancreatitis, or if a neighbor gave it to her or something she found, it may have something toxic in it. For vomiting, fast her for 12-24 hours (but see a vet asap anyway) If she continues to eat and drink, she may vomit more and become dehydrated.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | My gal Brandi suffers from seizure and from what you describe that is probably what it is. In my personal experience if she is stressed it will prolong the seizure. In dealing with her seizures keeping her calm and in a safe, quiet environment is very important during a seizure. Although Hypoglycemic Shock could also be the cause, but at her age I doubt it. Unless she is very small and has not eaten today. Take her to the vet as soon as you can!

| http://ervc.amedd.army.mil/vtfPDFs/E...GermanVets.pdf Is she any better? I am not sure what time it is in Germany right now. I found this link of host nation veterinary emergency care that provide 24 hour service. If she is still having the neurological symptoms (head swaying), I would definitely get her to a vet. Also, the vomit containing an object that does not look like her food is also concerning. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Hope she is okay now. What did the vet say? Also this beggin strip got my attention. Is it the product called beginn strips comes in different flavours like "bacon", etc? If so just check out the fat content of these strips, some dog treats are "fattier" than others, and probably not the best choice for a Yorkie
