| Teddy had a Seizure Teddy just had a seizure. It was a severe generalized seizure with all four limbs paddling. It lasted about 5 or 6 minutes. Teddy has been on his anticonvulsant medicine since December, and this was the first recorded seizure after starting the medication. I'm pretty upset. If he has another seizure today, we will go to the ER vet per Dr. orders. Thanks for any good thoughts for Teddy Bumpkins. Here is a partial video - I recorded over our voices since we were in a panic. Here is the video after his seizure also showing how he is after.

☺Farrah☺ Donating Member | Hi Cathy, My Farrah gets these. Somewhat new. She has had about 6 of them over the past 4-5 months. The vet knows she has had them but we are unsure what they are. Hers last 2 minutes and the front 2 paws paddle. I don't think we should pick her up but on her fifth one she almost got very hurt trying to get to me. So now I pick her up but don't pet or talk. I just wait it out and put her down where she is back to normal immediately. Do you know what it is from? What they are called? Thanks for your reply.

Is Farrah on medication? Teddy has epilepsy and had all the testing done to rule out any other cause of seizures. His seizures are severe generalized also called grand mal seizures. He is on medication dosed every 12 hours - apparently it is not working.

| Yes he did seem to come out of it quickly but was wobbly so we put him in the crate for a little while. He is back to himself now but tired. He realllyyyy liked the ice cream too. I read somewhere ice cream helps them to get over the seizure and prevent another and I just happened to have some.

| Saying a prayer for Teddy & that they get his meds adjusted right to minimize these episodes. I've never seen a dog seizure before. It was sad, but very informative for those of us who haven't experienced this. I was amazed by the during & after videos. Quite unbelievable how spunky Teddy is after. Keeping Teddy in my thoughts and wishing the best for him.

| Cathy, I'm so sorry. I am sure you were in a panic. Keeping Teddy in my prayers and I hope it doesn't happen again. Hopefully an adjustment in the medication can prevent any more of them. Sending you lots of hugs, too.

| Poor Teddy. I'm sure that Dr. Sisson will help to reassure you when you hear back from him about the seizure. You are a wonderful momma to Teddy Bumpkins and I know that you will give him nothing but the best care and love that any owner could possibly give. It was meant for him to be with your family to make sure that he has the best quality of life possible. I wish I was closer to you so that I could give you a great big and then we could go for pistachio ice cream together.
