| Welcome to YorkieTalk. If your pup's eyes are making the sides of his face wet, I would take him to the vet. Eyes should not water that much. Also, water is not the ideal thing to use to rinse eyes. Plain sterile saline made for eyes would be better. Stay away from fancy eye drops or medicated eye drops. These can make matters worse.

Your puppy could be allergic to some type of air born pollen, dust or the type of food. I would keep him inside as much as possible right now since this is a major allergy season, and start him on some cooked red meat with broccoli, carrots & green beans. After a week if there is no improvement, then maybe you should take him to the Vet. to find out what else can be done. Believe it or not, this is more common than you realize.

Teething will contribute to "eye boogers" that form at the inner corner of the eye and may run down the side of the snout, but that shouldn't make the sides of the face wet.

| That is good news. Hair in the eyes is a constant battle, especially when my boys wrestle. Best wishes to your pup.

| Hi. This is my first post. (I'm still trying to figure out how to use the site). I was very interested in the conversation about tearing eyes. Poor Zoey's eyes having been running a lot. She also has eye goobers for lack of a better word. I never gave teething a thought. She's "just" 14 weeks today. Could that be her problem? They been real bad for the past few days. Thanks in advance! Cindy...Zoey's mom |
