| Went in for a regular health check up...came out with Demodex AGAIN! We went to the vet to get Bentley's exam for his delta evaluations. While there I mentioned that as of late he had been really licking his feet and there was some crusty stuff on his nail beds. She decided to skin scrape due to a past history with demodex and sure enough. The little boogers are back...or they never really left the first time. Last time we did promeris for three months. This time it's a daily low dose of ivermectin for a month and then go from there. He goes back in a week to see where we are at. I hope his tummy can stand all these nasty chemicals inside him. This is simply an awful thing to deal with and I curse his previous owners for not taking enough care of him to ever let his immune system come down enough to get these mites. Pray that this vet will get rid of them for GOOD. |

| i sure am! it's breaking my heart because he never should have gotten it to begin with. someone did not care for him or love him enough to keep his immune system up and he got this. i have a feeling he was very neglected and abused even the way he came to me. he's such a loveable boy i just don't get it at all why anyone could hurt him. hoping for a fast recovery and those darn buggies to GO AWAY for good. |

| I see that you have other dogs. Do the others have fear of getting them?

I was shocked at the results! Not only was her insulin requirement reduced to 1/3 the dose she had been on for years, she never had another UTI (they are chronic with diabetics). She has been healthier in the past three years than she has the entire time I've had her. She is 15.5 years old and counting and I credit colostrum with a lot of that. Bovine Colostrum, Natures Forgotten Miracle and How to Order | The Pet Whisperer? Animal Naturopaths and Holistic Veteriniarians recommend Bovine Colostrum Transfer Factors And The Immune Response in Humans and Animals This is where I get Lady's. A jar lasts nearly a year. | Bless that little guy's heart. I hope he can be rid of it once and for all. I know how you hate giving him all of that stuff.

| My Annie had a horrible case of demadex when we got her. When the so-called breeder found out she had it and couldn't breed her she dropped her off at a shelter and was pulled by a rescue group. She was about 6 or 8 months old at the time. She was so sick from the accompanying infections the vet didn't think she would make it, but she did. She was also on a low doseage of ivermectin for months. Most importantly, it is not considered "cured" until you get at least two clean scrapings. And, then you have to pray they are scraping the right areas. I am praying for your baby as it is a miserable thing to deal with. Annie scratched herself bloody raw and bald in one day while I was at work and she was in her pen. We had to keep her with little flannel booties on and a turtle neck sweater that we kept pulled up to her ears. And, she was zonked out on benadryl for most of that time. Now we worry about the long term effects of the ivermectin. She goes to a homeopathic vet and is on a very limited vaccination schedule so we aren't introducing more toxins into her already overly taxed body. I would seriously look into what Lady's mom has suggested as she has done wonders with Lady and keeping her healthy. |

| I'd have higher hopes for the ivermectin rather than the ProMeris. Been told by a vet that that stuff doesn't work well at all. Maybe not the old owners' fault (although could have been). Is he on immune boosters now?
