| Sweet Peyton hurt his leg (all my fault, I am so ashamed!) I am so sad for my sweet boy. I am getting ready to head out to the emergency vet. Last night around 2 am I was taking my allergy medicine before I went to bed. I sat Peyton on a kitchen chair (stupidly!!!). He got excited and squirmed around and fell backwards onto the floor. This is ALL my fault. I feel so horrible. He cried a little at first, but stopped when I picked him up and comforted him. I took him upstairs and watched him for a while to see how he was. He was hungry, so he ate and drank, then went and laid down. He was not putting any wait on his little leg. It is the rear left leg. He sleeps with mope, so I took him to bed. This morning he is 100% his usual happy self. Still not putting weight on that leg though. I am usually smarter than this. I cannot believe I let him sit on that chair by himself. It all happened so fast. But, that is NO excuse. I am to blame. I am sharing in hopes that someone else might read this and not make the same mistake. It only takes a second for an accident to happen. Please say a prayer that his leg is just tender and not broke. Either way, I'm going to let the ER vet see him. I'll post an update when I get home.

| Yep, that is why they are called accidents! Don't beat yourself up. Hopefully it is just a contusion and he will be fine. Or...even LP..sometimes it can get aggravated by a fall and a couple of weeks of rest and anti-inflammatories and it is good as new. I hope that is it! Prayers for Peyton..and for you!

| We all do things we wish we could undo. You were either tired, or had your mind on something else. I hope that Peyton will be ok. Let me know what you find out. I'm really sorry.

| I agree don't beat yourself up over this. It is all so new when we get a wee little one and we learn the do's and don'ts and sometimes accidents happen. I am sure that you are an excellent mother and I am praying that he is ok

| Not great news... Well, they finally brought him back from x rays...it took so long. He has a fractured growth plate in his knee. I am glad we went ahead with the x ray. The initial exam was good, this was just to be sure. Anyhow, they said surgery was an option. Recovery from surgery is a couple weeks. The other option is to sedate him, wrap it, and bring in for checks and rewraps frequently. Based on the fracture she said it has a good chance to heal on it's own. It may take 4 weeks. If it does not heal on it's own, then we can do surgery.

| They said it will take a few hours and I could come get him after they were done. I told them I want to stay here with him. They are very understanding. I am waiting in the lobby until they are ready for him they have a few emergencies they need to see to first. Then, when they are done wrapping him, they will bring him to me. I will be able to hold him as he comes out of his sedation. I feel much better about being here and holding him instead of making him wait and then wake up in the small cage. He is do attached to me (and me to him), I know he will be happier with me holding him. I could hear him crying and whining when they took him for the x ray. So glad I have my iPhone with me. Gives me something to do while we wait. They said it will prob take several hours. Thanks for letting me share. It feels better talking about it with people who know and understand the love we have for these little sweeties.

| I am so sorry to hear this news. You are a great mom for getting him the medical attention he needs. Peyton is going to heal from this. I know how much you love your baby, and accidents happen even when we are trying to be careful. My prayers are with both of you, and I am hoping for a full recovery very soon.
