Donating YT 11K Club Member | Respiratory problems I've noticed that London makes a lot of noises with her breathing but when I take her to the vet they are like, no she is not sick, that's just how some yorkies breathe. I don't know if i should be concerned or not..she is a little fatty right now, can this be the problem? She sounds like she has a cold a lot of times, it can get really loud. Does anyone's yorkie make sounds like this when they breathe? Can it be an infection or something serious? It's def. not the trachea or reversed sneezing..it's a diff. type of sound.

| Being overweight can cause labored breathing. Your vet listened to her lungs? That, blood tests and an xray I believe would be the only ways to determine if she has a respiratory infection.

| Lucy makes all kinds of weird noises when she is playing. When she gets too excited, she starts making 'honking' noises and can do it when she is playing too. She can get this way when we first go outside on the leash as well. I've also noticed her panting more during play ~ my son will throw the ball for her forever, up and down stairs, etc and I've asked him not to play w/her so hard. So, not sure if that is it . . . It does concern me and she is scheduled for a Vet appointment next week - it was just a regular well check-up and to get established with a new Vet but I will definitely be mentioning this as well. So I wonder too.

| That is good news. The weird sounds you hear, you say definitely not trachea, but can you tell if the sounds are more chest, throat, or nose related? Is it something you can capture on video and share with your vet and post here?

| Sometimes they can have a bit of an elongated soft palate...does not really cause any problems. I had a foster like that....she would snort at times...and snore when she slept. Her furever mom thinks it is cute .

| How old is she and are her teeth in good shape? Has she had a dental with xrays?
