| Cough Question I got molly on Friday. I noticed Monday morning when we came in from potty time that she started coughing. It continued yesterday and is still going on today, after she comes in from outdoors she has a cough fit. She wears a harness so its not a collar irritating her. Should i take her to a vet or could it just be a cold maybe?

| I would have her checked out by a vet if it continues. My Jett had a cough for the first couple of weeks after I got him, we took him to the vet a couple of times for it, but vet said he was fine and to keep an eye on him. He is now fine a couple weeks later, but always good to get checked out!

| Please take her to the vet and also when you go bring a stool sample and have it checked for parasites. Coughing, can be kennel cough but it can also be associated with some parasites. Either way the cough can go into pnemonia. My vet lost two pups recently to kennel cough. They were tiny and it went from kennel cough to pnemonia and they just declined so fast. Good Luck. E. |

| First vet check is very important. But my little Chipper has the same problem. Spring and fall. So does my Moms yorkie. I just give Chipper a 25 mg benadryl. Mom does the same for her baby. they have been to the vet and he said yorkies can have allergies just like us. The vet said I could use the benadryl 25 mg up to 2 times a day. If that did not work, to bring him back and they make allergy meds for dogs. But it works just fine on my Chipper and my Moms little Prissy so you could try it to see if it works for your baby. But please do take him to your vet just to make sure its nothing worse. I love my vet he's one of those good vets who's not in it for the dollars but the animals. He very informative, and helpful. Great care without the great pricetag. Anyway, keep us posted on your little one. Let us know what the vets says. Best of luck,Blessings

| Both Max and Molly where both treated recently for kennel cough. Molly actually gave it to Max. Molly was on antibiotics for 10 days and Max for 7 days. She was fine up until a couple of days ago. I took her back to the Vet on Friday and she doesn't have kennel cough or pneumonia. She could possibly have a collaspe triachia which I know there isn't a cure. To me it sounds more like phlem. If she has a collaspe triachia would she be coughing all the time (not really coughing though)? She had no temperature and she is eating fine. I did buy her a harness yesterday. I am planning on calling the vet again tomorrow as she isn't getting any better. I have may daughter coming with her new baby Yorkie for the weekend and I want to make sure she is okay because I don't want him to get sick. |
