Donating YT 4000 Club Member | White spots on eyes/shaking Yesterday, Scarlett had what looked like a hypoglycemic episode. I gave her some nutrical and chicken and it went away. This afternoon, she started to shake again. I gave her the nutrical and chicken and it lessened up for about 15 minutes. It started up again, even stronger. I gave her some more nutrical and headed for the vets office. They took her blood sugar, it was normal. While examining her, the vet noticed a couple of white spots on her eyes that I hadn't noticed. They checked with the opthalmascope and it wasn't corneal ulcers. The vet isn't sure what it is. She said that sometimes dogs can get fatty deposits on the corneas, but Scarlett is too young for that. Scarlett's shaking lessened up, so they sent us home with instructions to watch her over night and to head to the ER if she gets bad again. We go back tomorrow for serial blood glucoses and a CBC, urinalysis and full chem panel. I'm really not sure what is going on with her. She's eaten well today but she's been very clingy. I feel badly that I can't figure out what is going on with her. She hasn't had a hypoglycemic episode since she was very tiny and at her age and weight, she really shouldn't have them at all. Any ideas?

| Wondering if the shaking could be associated with pain? I'm sorry but I done have a clue what the white spots could be. I hope you are able to get some answers to what is going on with Scarlett.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I'm thinking pain, too. It's just odd that it seems to respond to nutrical. What are the symptoms of pancreatitis in dogs?

| I am not positive about all of the symptoms but I believe one of the big signs is lack of appetite which you said she did eat chicken.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | She ate a little bit, but she just refused scrambled egg which is normally her all time favorite thing. No vomiting, no diarrhea. She's curled up next to DH right now, still shaking a little.

| Donna, I wish I could offer some advice but I just don't know. I'm sorry she isn't feeling well and hoping it's nothing at all.

| I am sorry that Scarlett is not feeling well. Hopefully the lab work will give you some answers. As to the white spots, I have never heard of anything like that. Maybe it is just a pigment thing? Do you have a vet opthamologist in your area? Will say a prayer that all goes well tomorrow.

| That sounds so scary and my heart is touched by the worry in your post. I know how frightened you must be but I'll bet the vet will keep on until they get a handle on what is going on. If he/she doesn't seem to nail it pretty quickly, maybe you can call the veterinary college in your state for a good consultant near you. Try to take care of yourself, too, and we are all praying for a quick and simple resolution. Our best to little Scarlett. |

| I have not had to deal with anything with the eyes beyond a minor eye infection so I have nothing to offer but prayers that you will get some info and Scarlett will be ok. Please keep us posted.
