| He could just be irritated and that could cause the blood or it could be a medical problem so its best to have it checked

| You need to get him to the vet ASAP. Blood in the stool is never good & he can hemmorhage from this. Also he could have Parvo & early detection & treatment for Parvo is the key to recovery. PLEASE call & take him in TODAY. |

| Links to vets in your area: Veterinarian in Winnemucca, NV, Animal Hospital Ome is supposed to be an ER, but it looks like you'll have to start calling them to find which one....

| It is something to be concerned about but it may also just be from irritation. My yorkie has had bloody stools a couple of times and it was just from irritation to his anus

| I really think you should have your little guy checked out by the vet. By the way, black tarry stools (or maroon colored) indicates old bleeding or bleeding higher up in the GI tract (it's partially digested), red or bright red bleeding is more often "hemorrhaging" or from lower in the GI tract. | No luck I must live in the darn twillight zone!! i called all the numbers on the internet and in the phone book all the vets are on vacation back next friday. My only other option is to take him 3 hours away. which I cant because the road conditions are so bad here. I will have to wait until Tuesday evening when the fill in person comes in. Damn I hope hes ok.. |

| I would make the trip. I think you could wait untill tomorrow morning but no longer than that. Im gonna go with the concensus though and say you should take him tonight. There are some serious life threatening things the pup can have that bloody stools could be a symptom like parvo

| cheech is ok Cheech is playing eating totally fine today havent noticed any blood at all and no loose stools.. i am thinking it may have been a treat he ate. Or possibly a bit of pine feline litter i use for his litter box. ( i have him trained to go in a litter box for now since its freezing here.. I still am going to take him to the vet for a check though. ASAP |
