| Yorkie still coughin, 2 months still.. My yorkie is 5 months old, she was diagnosed with KC two months ago, now the vet is saying she might just have a weak trachea and we just have to deal with it. The weather has been up and down, so she has good days, and bad where she coughs/hacks--mainly at night along with a sneeze occasionally. She drinks, eats and plays constantly-- does anyone have anyways to cope with this? Do you have thoughts about my vet telling me this? Thank you! |

| The vet told us to get some weight off Kayla. She is having breathing problems at times. I hope and pray its not CT. THe vet only talked about her weight. If she keeps having problems I want them to check further into whether it could be that or backward sneezing. I am a little confused on the two and what to really look for. I am so sorry about your baby. I just rub Kayla's throat gently until she relaxes and yesterday we bought her a humidifer that I hope will help her to breathe better. Your baby is so young to have those problems. Poor little guy. Its so hard when they are sick. Hope you get help and an answer to what is wrong soon. Please help us pray that its not CT that Kayla may have. We love our little warts so much. We have 4 and love them to pieces. |

| Did your vet do an xray or other diagnostic testing to see what is going on with the trachea? Kennel cough has lingered when my dogs have had it, but I don't think it was as long as 2 mos.

| We have tried the humidifier, she did good with that, but then the weather changes and it seems that it doesn't help anymore. The vet didn't do anything diagnostic on her, we are trying to get out of doing XRAYS but if she keeps this up we have no other choice. We feel her throat and she doesn't cough like they usually do with CT. I just read so many forums about yorkies having it and dying in there owners arms and I really would hate for that to happen to my baby girl. Olivia is about 2.2 so she's pretty healthy minus this coughing/mucus sound I hope your Kayla gets better, it's awful to be so helpless towards them..if only they could tell us whats wrong! Does Kayla still play and run around? Little Livy is on the right, the hairy one is her big brother Oliver |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | When I brought Cali home she had KC and gave it to my older pom. They both had it for 3 months is spite of 2 round of antibiotics. Towards the end it was mostly at night and first thing in the morning. I just had them checked every couple of weeks to make sure it hadn't gone in to pneumonia. I thought it would never go away but it did. Hopefully hers will clear up soon. One thing I did was run the shower at the hottest temp and keep the door closed. The steam seemed to help them breath a bit better for awhile. I did that everynight.

| TJ got KC from our foster pup in Oct. It took approx 21 for the KC to appear in TJ from his first exposure. As of today, he still will cough from time to time, and sound a little mucusy. I have heard KC 'can' take a while to go away |

| When I first got Buster he had a bad case of kennel cough. He was on antibiotics for a month and a half and it did not go away. He was playful but he had bad coughing fits especially at night. I steamed him in the bathroom and also bought a humidifier. He ended up being borderline for Pneumonia so he had to stay for 2 nights/3d ays at the hospital on IV antibiotics and getting vaporizing treatments (I can't exactly remember what they were called but he had to wear an mask and breathe steam and perhaps there was medication in the treatment as well) before he got better. I hope baby gets better soon. |

| Kayla does play and acts as if nothing is wrong until she has one of those spells. She is only 3. We ran the humidifer last night for the first time for her and she didn't even have that loud snoring and nosies she makes when she sleeps. I have never heard a dog make the noises she makes. Like I said earlier, she sounds like a little pig rooten. Has there been any change at all in your baby. It just looks like there is something that could be done, but, somethings just have to run their course and maybe kc is one. I really don't know that much about it. I sure hope everything goes well with this baby and you have alot of wonderful times together. |

| P.S. Your babies are so cute. They remind me of Kayla and Dudley with their ears. Kayla's ears have stood up from day 1 and Dudley's ears lay flat. He is so tiny and that little baby face sometimes I think they look as cute with the ears down as well as up. Sweet babies. Hope they are blessed with good health and a long life. |

| Both Zoe my Shorkie and Zach my Yorkie had KC. It only lasted about 3 weeks but every once in awhile when they exert themselves too much they cough. Not enough but enough to get me worried. Zoe had an xray done a couple of weeks ago but nothing showed so I'm still not sure if the coughing has anything to do with the KC they had when they were very young. |

| When mine had KC, most of them were over it in 2 weeks, but for one of them it seemed to hang on. Eventually it went away. |

| Olivia Still coughing, sometimes up to 2mins+ I am just concerned that it will hurt her heart with all the coughing--can that happen? We are waiting till the 24th when we get her shots to get an xray..Also we are feeding her purina one dog food, is this part of the problem/causing allergies? |

| When I posted the above, I thought that it was the OP I was quoting. At any rate, for both of you, perhaps that video might help.
