| Can special treats cause white/grey poop? My yorkie, Sioux, has had light colored stool the past few days. My niece went to a puppy bakery and got them treats with white frosting on them. She had the most of them, and now has been having white/pebble stool. Could this be because of the treats or pizzles? I so appreciate your help. I read that a blockage of bile could cause it, but wanted to check with you guys before running her to the vet. She is acting fine, just problems with the poop. Thanks! |

| The poop is white and hard and pebbly? I would think that yes having a treat like this could change the color of her poop but I would think only one or two and it would be worked out of her system so if she's continuing to have irregular stools it's probably a good idea to have it checked out. |

| The white frosting was probably yogurt which would change the color of her poop. It isn't a good idea to feed too many of any treats. I'm sure she will be back to normal in no time.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | White poop can be a serious sign of trouble unless your dog is eating lots of bones which can turn poop white. If poop is white it can mean that the liver isn't functioning properly, especially if urine is brown. Do you know what is in the treats, I wonder how high in fat they are? I'm not sure if yogurt would cause that. Just want to add, most treats are made for average size dogs, and Yorkies aren't average sized dogs, a treat that wouldn't upset a bigger dogs digestive system, might be too much for a yorkie. Hows the poop today?

| She actually went after lunch and it seemed back to normal - it may have just been the treats. I told my niece not to feed them any more, and she promised not to. Thanks for your responses...you are the best! |
