| Crying while pooping? My little man has been crying while trying to poop today. Then he also scoots his butt on the ground. My husband thinks his anal sacs are probably impacted. I made an appointment for him tomorrow for the vet, the vet office said that is probably what it is. He just wants to be held today, poor thing. I don't mind though . Anyone else ever have this problem? |

| You might want to try some warm compresses on him for today to see if that might help.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I would ask the vet if they can move the appointment up to today. It does sound like impacted anal glands and when they get that bad, they need attention sooner rather than later. Plus why should your baby suffer any longer than necessary? |

| Oh dear...our Pippin had an absessed anal gland over the Thanksgiving weekend!! We made an emergency run to the after hours Animal Hospital and $500 later she had her gland lanced and drained. She did not show any symptoms earlier, otherwise I would have taken her to our regular vet and had the gland expressed... I would get her into a vet ASAP....you don't want the gland to rupture....very, very painful!! Good luck...and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers!! Janet & Pippin

| Thanks everyone ! I am going to bring him in at 8am, only other choice would be a two hr drive to a ER vet. He is in no pain, running around and playing today. He shows no other symptoms other than rubbing his butt on the ground a few times and crying while pooping. His stool seems fine. I think his glands just need to be expressed. I will update after tomorrow morning. Thanks again |

| Poor little guy! I don't have any experience with that, but I sure hope his little butt is all better soon. |

| Hi everyone, Remy went to the vet this morning. He had his anal glands expressed and the vet said there was a lot of fluid. That's what was bothering him. His fecal exam came back good also. The vet taught my husband how to express the glands and we have to do that every other day for a week. The glands weren't infected just had a lot of fluid build up. |

| Yea! Glad his little behind is better. There is a video online that shows how to express the anal glands. It doesn't look very difficult - just unpleasant. Cherie
