Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | Paris update Well now it seems that Paris is totally blind at night. He cries to get off the bed and stiffens up when I touch him to lift him at night in the dark. I miss my sleeping buddy. He sleeps on the floor in a dog bed now. It is so sad. It's like he's scared of the dark. I bought a led night light for near his bed. Maybe that will help. He still seems to see some during the day, but his eyes are blank looking. It's so sad. |

| I'm sorry. I know it's tough. I agree that he is scared. You want to always be sure to talk to him before you touch him, because it will scare him.

| How sad My mom's shih-tzu us completely blind but gets around fine because she knows the house. I bet Paris will adjust... Just make sure to be aware of this, and talk to him a lot. He just needs to know where you are coming from before you pick him up.

Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | Thanks for answering. I do talk to him alot, and I have people announce themselves when they come over. He gets stuck up on the couch and won't jump down at night but during the day he seems ok with it. I guess thats his depth perception going. I know he doesn't understand what's happening but he seems to be adjusting. Last night was the first with the new light and he stayed on my bed for a few hours but then went to his bed on the floor. I had a hard time sleeping with the light but he didn't.! |

| So sorry to hear about Paris... I don't know for sure but I do believe that adding coconut oil to his diet may help to slow the progression of the PRA... it has helped with Peek a Boo's cataracts....

Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | No but I will ask about that also! Thanks for reminding me. The vet didn't really say anything would help at this point, but he said it couldn't hurt. So I will aks again what he thinks. |
