Contagious Virus? Last Saturday morning, Buzz had terrible diarreah, all day long, w/a little throwing up...He wouldn't eat, at all on Saturday, and just layed around all day...I gave him chicken rice Sunday morning, and he did eat it, but had lite diarreah, throughout the day...Monday, he was just fine, so I didn't take him into the vet...Yesterday morning @ 2 a.m., Apple woke up, throwing up, but seemed fine, all day long, playing and eating, and acting normal, so I didn't think the two were related...Now it's Sunday morning, and Apple is throwing up, again, but haven't seen any diarreah...She did go potty, outside, this a.m., but it was dark...She wouldn't even come to kitchen, for breakfast (she's usually the first), and she's just laying in her puff ball pillow, sleeping...Of course, I'm taking her to the vet, in the a.m., whether she's feeling better or not, because I need to know what this is? Over my lifetime, I've never seen a virus go between my pups, like this, and wondered if anyone else has had something like this happen...They're all current on DHPP shots, so I'm not thinking Parvo...Anyway, Buzz is, totally, his old obnoxious self, and has been for a week now...Hope someone has some info..thanks...

I had a similar experience recently where first Teddy was sick, vomiting and couldn't keep food down. Next day he was back to normal. The following day (48 hours after Teddy started), Max had the same symptoms and they cleared just as fast. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...-max-sick.html

Thanks, me too (hope she's better)...Thanks, also, for the link...that was a good one to read...One other thing, is Apple seems more plagued w/throwing up, and Buzz seemed more plagued w/diarreah...Strange huh? | |

Could just be the difference in their digestive systems and how the bug affected them. Although my guys both vomited, Max had it worse than Teddy.

I have had this happen as well- where one was sick and then the other. As long as each one clears up in a day or two I usually just leave it at that. Hope everyone starts feeling better soon!

Poor Apple! I hate it when they're sick too. Hope all of you can get some rest tonight and that the vet can give you some answers tomorrow.

Thank you, for the well wishes...I hope we can rest, too, especially, my little Apple puddiny pie...Mama doesn't rest too well, when her babies are not 100%...We just love these little guys and girls, sooooo much....It hurts to see them not feeling well

so what did u find out? i wish i knew what keeps causing mine to be sick. i think we've beat it for once and all and then a few months go by and they both get sick again. how does this happen? this time neither dog has been anywhere outside of our home and yard, they weren't around other dogs other than ones across the fence. they are always fully vaccinated and take their monthly flea and tick and heartworm pills. we do everything right. we clean constantly (maybe not enough though) is it our house, our yard, what makes them catch this sickness over and over. and you know it's contageous because they BOTH get it each time. it's gotta be a virus living in our home/yard somehow. but how would you ever know. they are both parasite free according to today's fecal. diet can't be causing both dogs to catch something since it's been the same diet for several months and it was FINE...WTH is going on?

| I'm so sorry Apple is sick! Praying she's feeling much better today. What did the vet say?

Thank you, so much, for the prayers...I'm happy to say Apple is right as rain now...The diarreah, left, as quickly as it came, and she's running around harassing her brother and sister, which is what she does best lol...I have to admit, because the diarreah stopped, and it was so dead gum cold, yesterday, I decided not to take her out...I guess, by the time I take her in for her heartworm check, the illness probably won't show up in her bloodwork...I'm just hoping that Cha Cha doesn't get it, since both Apple & Buzz had it (a week apart)...Who knows where these strange, out of the blue, illnesses come from? So glad it's left our house, for now...Only thing is, after giving her the white rice, I'm not sure if she's pooped, yet? It's always something
