Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Blody poop , throwing up and rash The night from Sunday to Monday Max woke me up a few times to do #2, is not usual on him, it was mucous/watery. During the day he did 2-3 more times, this time with trace of blood, fresh blood, may be to push so much all during the night. Threw up 3 time, first time with a complete kibble and flem, almost the consistency of egg white, hard to pick up, the other two also flem but clear. I only gave him rice on monday and he would not have it, but drank lost of water. yesterday I gave him rice again and he had some, but not much, he doesn't like it.This morning he went for his plate and eat some kibbles, but I was just giving him a tummy rub and found a rash all over his tummy, and all his under side, not insect bite, it is a rash. I always thought it was something he had gotten into while we were away, my kids get them out, but dont pay much attention to what they pick up . He doesn't seem to be in pain, just quite . Is there something I can use topically to alleviate this rash? Now Im sure he got into something, but since he was better yesterday I thought he was getting rid of it, and now this rash

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Gosh, I don't think I'd put anything on that rash until you know what it is, and what's going on w/ his diarrhea/vomiting. I'd see a vet asap...bc he may have ingested something - or, he may have a parasite. Also, once they lose their appetite...it really is time to bring them in bc dogs only lose their appetite when they're really feeling low, and something is def wrong. I hope he is okay!

| Poor little guy - seems a quick trip to the Dogtor is in order. Hoping he improves soon.

| I hope the dr is able to help the poor little guy. Is there anything in your yard he could have gotten into - maybe eaten a plant leaf?

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Update Just an update. The vet called and said since Max was better, no diarrhea or vomiting, I should keep a close eye and if he didn't improve, take him to his office tomorrow morning. He has been playing, eating and drinking water, still no poop, so Im waiting for that. The rash is getting better.Im preparing an oatmeal bath for him, so hopefully this will be over soon. thank you all for your concern

| I'm glad he's doing better. Let us know how the rash does after the oatmeal bath. This is just strange!

Glad you took him to the vet, hopefully the oatmeal bath will help the rash. You could also try Benadryl.

| I think the pedialyte is used to take place of the water according to her posting. It is used when babies have been vomited or have diarrhea in place of other liquids. So, I assume that is why the vet says withhold water. Because withholding water would dehydrate our babies I would think. But the Pedialyte keeps that from happening.

| Your absolutely right! water tends to make nausea worse.....Pedialyte has electrolytes necessary for our babies to prevent dehydration.....Thanks! Boops MOM |

| My vet has said that you can use Gatorade also. However, Rosie will have nothing to do with Gatorade or Pedialyte. I have to give her sugar water. She is a picky little thing.
