| my baby's acting odd :S Hi everyone, I need some advice Coco's been acting strange the past 2 days. Just suddenly he's quiet, always sleeping, not drinking or eating as much and surprisingly refuses to eat his treats:S:S He's never done this before...he's only 1 year old. Could he be sick? Do dogs even get sick? I checked him all over and nothing seems wrong, he's not vomiting and no signs of diarrhea it's just his personality seems to have changed like he's completely opposite to what he usually is? Has this happened before? I hope someone may be familiar with this situation.... Thanks -Maria & Coco =)) |

| Oh yes, dogs do get sick. If they go off feed and water and are not acting as they normally do, a visit to the vet would be a very wise decision. Praying your little one feels better soon...

| I would take your baby in the vet. Not drinking or eating is never good.

| You need to get him to a vet. My last dog was a part of that food poisoning a few years back and had renal failure. She started off the exact same way, sleeping and not eating. You really need to get him checked out. |

| The earliest appointment I can get is Thursday so I took it I hope it's okay I'm so worried. He is drinking and eating but not AS MUCH as before. I don't know if its food poisoning because he's not vomitting and no diarrhea....and how could it be renal failure he's only 1... Oh gosh I'm overwhelmed.. |

| Really...yeah he has been having some chicken strips by the company "Celebrity" and it shows it's made in China... Anyway I'm not going to even wait until Thursday I'm bringing him to the vet first thing tomorrow morning! I can't stand seeing him that way, going from extremely hyper, always wanting to play to just flopped down, weak and sleepy, I'm so worried |

| I hope yours is ok. I know mine gets a bacteria infection or bacterial virus about 1 or 2 times per year. Since the first time it happened, I know to get her to the vet immediately as she just wants to sleep and not eat. On a side note, if you are a new owner, remember that many yorkies require sugar or something because they burn so much energy. I have to give mine syrup or honey from time to time as a pick-me-up. This is what my vet told me to do. He said if she is playing hard and then all the sudden stops and acts lethargic I should do. My sister has a YT and her vet told her the same thing. That is not what I am suggesting in this instance as I think yours needs to see a vet. Just something to keep in mind for when she is well. |

| Hi Maria, How is Coco this morning, just a thought it's hot as hell here and don't you just feel the same as him? want to just lay around and do nothing because of this high humidity and heat, I know I'm feeling it lol. Do you have AC? My 2 are acting the same on Monday they pratically spent the whole day sleeping and laying around If you're really concerened still take him in and have him checked out it won't hurt. Good luck and keep us posted.xo |

| relief!!!! Hey everyone Before I start I just want to thank you all for your precious advice and help I truly do appreciate it This morning I took Coco to the vet and he said he had something stuck on his intestine. The dr had to put his finger up his butt lol poor thing...but yeah he said he must of eaten something bad from outside and it got stuck there and this is why he was feeling this way. He gave me something to help him poo it out and he should be okay. I'm so glad it wasn't anything more serious, but I learnt my lesson, and I need to make sure that when I walk him he doesn't sneak anything into that little mouth of his...So that's that! Thanks again to all of you!!! -Maria&Coco ) |
