| Baxter is sick. He has.... Tonsilitis?? I didn't even realize dogs had tonsils. Vet says his throat is very red and tonsils are swollen and he indeed has tonsilitis. I have never had a sick dog before. He is so pitiful. Got 3 shots at vet last night. Went back to vet today and got another antibiotic shot and is coming home tonight with antibiotics to take orally. |

My yorkiepoo Trixie had this. She eventually had to have her tonsils taken out. I never knew dogs could it either until I experienced it with Trixie.

| Poor little guy. I had a friend whose dog had tonsilitis and the vet kept treating for a GI problem. Poor thing lost a lot of weight and I finally talked her into a second opinion. Once they got the right diagnosis and meds, he started to improve. I am sure Baxter will be well soon! Keep us posted.

| Baxter was feeling much better this morning. Actually brought his ball to me to play fetch. He hasn't touched it in 2 days and it is his favorite toy. |

| I'm glad Baxter is feeling better. My little Heidi use to get tonsillitis often especially during allergy season. I had no idea that dogs had tonsils until the vet diagnosed her. My sweet baby is at the bridge now and she won't have to worry with that anymore. |

| How old is Baxter ? I was told by a vet a few yrs ago that tonsillitis in dogs and cats is most often caused by infected teath. |

| Baxter will be 3 in December. He's had his teeth cleaned once. He doesn't appear to be having any problems with his teeth. The strange thing is that I have been sick and was in the dr's office with a sore throat the day before he went to the vet. He may very well have gotten it from me. Even though i convinced the vet to tell me he didn't so I would feel better. I hate to think that I made him sick!! He is doing so much better now that you would never know he was sick. I hope he never gets it again. |

| I don't know if you believe in herbal remedies but I would put a little bit of apple cider vinegar ( I like Braggs best ) in with his food. It's a natural antiseptic for the body and fights infections- It's worth a shot. I give it to Keoki a few times a week as an immune booster. |

| My Nadia had this when she was young. She had one round of antibiotics and was fine. She is three and half now and has never had it again
