| First response for chocking I want to know what to do when a dog is chocking. Can anybody suggest a good website info that talk about what to do if your dog chokes? Things happen and they eat their food so fast that made me think! Thanks! |

| Check out the doggie heimlich maneuver page listed in this section it saved Keokis life. I never wanted to experience this but unfortunately Keoki choked a few months ago and because of the article I read hear on yorkie talk I knew what to do and how to handle the situation. Of course I was a complete wreck but thankfully Keoki is o.k.- I know that if it weren't for this forum he might not be. It's always good to be informed. |

| This really is an important topic and so glad you posted the question. Piccolo choked on a rawhide bone a couple of years ago. I was very lucky that I was able to reach deep in her mouth/throat a pull it out, especially since no one else was home to help me. Very, very scary. If not, I guess I would have tried the dog Heimlich maneuver. That was also the very last day she was ever given rawhide to chew. I did not realize how dangerous these things could be.
