| Limping Puppy w/o Crying Yesterday I was in the bathroom, and Bazinga was just in the bedroom like...3 feet away. My husband turned his back on him for 5 seconds and turned back and noticed Bazinga was holding his right front paw off the ground...he hobbled for about 10 minutes, and then seemed ok. We put him in his room though to rest just in case he twisted his foot or something. This morning the same thing happened....he was fine and then stepped off of a pretty tall pillow I have on the floor for him and started limping again. He doesn't cry he just limps. Has anyone had this happen??? What should I do??? Is it broken??? I would think he would cry if it was broken... I'm just so worried he's hurt.

| I know that broken bones can happen without really knowing what happened, especially the way they leap off of things. Since he doesn't hold it up all the time, it doesn't sound too bad.. but I'm a worry wart so I would take him to the Vet to make sure. It might be a hairline crack that could break worse later. My friend just a month ago let her little one out to potty and she came back in with a broken "ankle". |

How old is your pup? If this continues, it would be good to bring him in for a vet check. Dogs can have a pretty high pain tolerance. So the fact there is no crying or whimpering is not necessarily indicative of nothing wrong.

LP is luxating patella, when the knee cap slips out of place. depending on the degree of severity it can cause intermittent limping, or permanent limping, in the most severe cases an operation is often recommended.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I hope it is just sore and he will be fine in a day or so. I would keep him confined to his crate or small area and not let him be on anything that requires him to jump, even a little bit and see if a few days of this helps. I would also have my vet check him out just to be sure. One of mine recently walked off the bed by accident instead of using the ramp and a day later was limping so bad she couldn't stand up. She ended up having Luxating Patella.
