☺Farrah☺ Donating Member | Farrah is getting surgery today for Legg-Perthes I'm a little beside myself that my baby needs another surgery (at 7mos she was spayed) Now at 9 mos she is having surgery to remove the broken hip bone caused by Legg-Perthes Disease. I'm curious to hear your story if you have been through this. Please share what the process was and what the rehabilitation was like. I feel so badly for my Farrah. She has been through enough.

| I haven't been through this, but I wanted to send prayers for Farrah. May she have a successful surgery and a complete recovery.

| I haven't been through this, but a few here have. Do a search for Legg-Perthes and you'll find a bunch of posts with useful info, and members that maybe you could PM and ask for their advice Best wishes for Farrah's surgery. The dogs I've read about here have done very well after their healing periods are over, so try to remain positive that your baby will be okay too BIG hugs!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Keeping Farrah in my prayers today. I have never dealt with this but one of mine recently had LP surgery where they cut her bone and repositioned it. She did really well, even with the confinement.

☺Farrah☺ Donating Member | The vet said to call after 3pm today to check on how the surgery went. When I called they said Farrah hadn't been operated on yet and to call back after 5. The wait is antagonizing! But no news is probably good news, right?

| Wishing you and your pup the very best! I know how you are feeling. Most of us have dreaded a particular day that affects one of our pets, or should I say family. Good luck. |

☺Farrah☺ Donating Member | Thank you all. I spoke with the vet and he said Farrah did great with the surgery. She did have many bone fragments in there and was probably in a bit of pain. She also has hip dysplasia on the opposite leg. So he is slightly concerned about that hip bearing her 4lb body over the next couple of months while doing therapy. BTW, she is 9 months old. So now I hold my breath overnight and pray she has no swelling or post-op problems. Thank you again for all the well wishes. You All are the reason Yorkie Talk is such a wonderful community.
