| So worried about my baby girl My baby Aislee has been sick the past couple days. I have been a nervous wreck. Last Sunday I left her at my dad's while I went to a meeting and once I got back there (3 hours later) he reported that she would not eat or drink anything. So I remade her food, thinking maybe he didn't do it right, and she ate a little bit of it. I couldn't get her to drink so we rushed home. Her appetite came back and she drank her water and ate her dinner like a big girl (she's 15 weeks old today ). Later that morning we woke up at 5am with Aislee throwing up the food she ate. I stayed up with her and just held her, after about an hour I gave her some rice milk and she loved it and drank it up. It sat just fine with her tummy and she started scratching at her bowl wanting food. So I boiled chicken and gave her some, I attempted brown rice as well, however, she gagged on the rice. She ate the chicken and was ready to play as usual. I wanted to try and wait until the next day (Tuesday) to take her to the vet because she already had a scheduled appointment for her last shot. All Monday I was giving her the rice milk and chicken and she did fine, didn't throw up once. Then Tuesday morning we wake up and she goes potty and she has diarrhea. By this point I'm scared to death for my baby, but thankful we were going to see the vet later that day. The vet checked her out and mentioned acid reflux, she also gave me a new medicine for her on going ear infection and a medicine for her diarrhea. She said to call her in the morning to let her know how the puppy is doing. Aislee ended up throwing up again this morning at 5am and then again a couple hours later. I called the vet and let her know and she said that it would be best to run blood work. So I took my little girl back to the vet for blood work and the vet just called me around 5:30pm saying, a lot, but the most important was that it was looking like Aislee has pancreatitis. Were waiting on one last test to come back to either confirm or deny the disease. I'm so sad, and so scared that I'm going to lose my baby girl. I love her so much and just thinking about what may come brings tears to my eyes. I did a ton of research before I got her and read several books and did everything I could to prepare. Aislee never had any table scraps. ever. And I tried to feed her the most healthy food I could find, she was on Wellness, and her treats consist of bits of apples and the occasional yogurt drop. What did I do wrong? I feel so bad! I just want my sweet girl to be healthy. I've read a lot of the pancreatitis threads on the site and they scared me to death. Is there anything I can be doing to help her get through this that hasn't already been done? (She's been eating boiled chicken and i.d. canned food that the vet sent home with us on Tuesday.) I feed her small amounts about 4x a day since she's been sick. Please help? (thanks for reading, I know this is quite lengthy)

| I have never experienced pancreatitis with mine so I have no advice. Just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you and your little Aislee and wish for healthy days ahead.

| If you gave her milk, that alone could cause diarrhea. You can give chicken and white (yucky) rice, it's easier on their system when they're ill, and it's 1/2 chicken (no fat, bones or skin) and 1/2 rice. What did she vomit in the morning? If it was Yellow bile, Yorkies will do that if there tummies are empty for too long. To avoid that, you can feed her a light meal before bedtime. I have to give mine a treat in the morning bc they're spit up yellow bile while they're waiting for their food. Getting something in their tummies quick usually stops it from happening. Hope she's feeling better soon. Sure your Dad didn't slip her anything... or could she have gotten into something while at his house?

Sorry it has taken me so long to give an update, I've been so busy with Aislee I havent been on the computer lately. Thank you for continued support and prayers everyone, I really appreciate them! Aislee woke up this morning with diarrhea and not wanting to eat right away like she had been wanting the past couple days, and I could not for the life of me get her to eat the chicken. So I put down some "low residual" food the vet sent me home with when she first started all of this and she ate some of that. And then by dinner she didn't want that anymore, so I put down canned I.D. food that the vet recently sent home with us and had to hand feed her. I'm wondering if it is acid reflux, is that what is causing the diarrhea? Any ideas?

| The low residue food helped my Westie when he had tummy issues and diarrhea. He also got an antibiotic but I can't remember the name of it. He ate the canned only for a couple of weeks. (He had gotten into some chicken bones in the garbage and really did a number on his stomach). I would probably stick with the low residue food for now if you can get her to eat it. I try to give Lucy a bedtime snack so her tummy isn't totally empty all night. I'm glad your baby does not have pancreatitis. Hope you can get the diarrhea under control.

Aislee was on an antibiotic or some type of medicine for her diarrhea and they told me to stop when her stool got firmer. So I stopped and then like a day later the diarrhea started again so now shes back on it. I'm calling my vet back in the morning though. =]

| Good luck. Maybe they will put her back on the antibiotic. It was so scary when Ringo was sick. I walked into the house and he had had an 'accident' with bloody poop everywhere. I'm kind of glad he did because I might not have seen it outside. He had to stay on the canned food longer than expected and I forget how many days he was on the antibiotic. Took a while for his poop to firm back up. But he is a sturdy 15 lbs; it's even scarier with a tiny dog. I really hope she gets over the diarrhea and that your vet can steer you in the right direction.
