| Little one has FLEAS My little girl has fleas.....I don't want to use over the counter products on her. She is 4 and weighs 6 lbs. I read about natural solutions - Dawn Dish Soap, spray made of flower scented shampoo and water, spray made out of lavender oil and water. Also, brewers yeast in food. Will these work and are they safe for her?? Any suggestions?

| The dawn will kill the fleas that are currently on her. It is safe it may dry her skin so I would follow with a dog shampoo with oatmeal, goats milk, just something that will soothe irrated skin. It won't kill fleas that get on her later. You have to eliminate the fleas in your house. You could use a flea bomb to your house, but you have to leave your house for the day and your furbaby. I don't use any chemicals on my 3 babies either. I use pet shampoos with cedar oil in it. Every once in a while I will find a flea on them and use Dawn. How bad are the fleas in your area?

| mysweetbabies response Fleas are moderate - we live in lower desert of California....I moved in with my sister and she has fleas in her location but I never did. I just want to be clear in your response that I can wash her in Dawn but then do I rewash her right away with Shampoo with Coconut Oil or wait a couple days? Can I use a mixture spray as a flea spray?

| Just make sure when you use the Dawn start at the neck and work your way down that way the fleas won't try to move to his head and ears. I rub a little on top of head also try not to get in eyes. I haven't had that happen yet. Knock on wood. You will see the dead fleas floating in the bathwater. Don't know whats in it,but it works. I just hate its a temporary fix.

| Your welcome I haven't tried spray solutions yet. I know some of that isn't good for them to lick. Not for sure which ones. I have put organic coconut oil on them before and I always put a little in their food. It is very good for them. They looked a little greasy, but they sure smelled good I have read some post that fleas don't like it.

| I usually rub some on my hands and rub them down. Kind of like you would put gel in your hair. I put about 1/2 teasp. in their food. If she gets runny poops don't be alarmed the oil is cleaning out her system. Just cut back on it some if that happens. Good luck with those annoying fleas.
