| Heat related diareah? My 8 month old puppy has been having diareah issues now for about 2 weeks. I took her to the vets at the beginning and we think it is due to the extreme heat we have had an almost non stop heat wave in the northeast for this entire time period. The vet said to feed her chicken and rice and a littleof the activia yogurt. But if she is eating drinking and playing like normal it is mostlikely just the heat. And all of the above is truebut it's been 2 weeks and I don't see muchimprovement. Also she is suddenly going under our loveseat and peeing and pooping a lot more off her pads than usual. We are keeping her in air conditioning 99% of the time and playing with her a lit to keep her well excercised. Has anyone else ever experienced this type of issue?? Pls let me know. Best annie and beenie |

| Have you had fecal exams done? The heat can sure cause loose stools, and drinking more water can explain more accidents, but any underlying issues must also be investigated because it is lasting a little long isn't it? You can give her yourself PANCUR_C , it will make no harm, you buy the generic brand "SAFE GUARD" at any pet store and that alone helps with loose stools and it is a more complete de-wormer but also helps with giardia... that is a parasite that can cause diarrhea when stress is present, and the heat can cause stress... if the safe guard works you will need to another round in a week and a third one to cover the cycle of the giardia. Another good idea is to have a blood work done that is called "complete organ screening" , will tell the vet about her functions. Blessings. XOXO
