| Kasha's sick ! So it's been a week since her spay. She was doing great until Thursday when she didn't really want to eat. I wound up force feeding her Thurs & Friday. This morning she wouldn't eat at all! She wont eat human food either. Not even a pancake would bring her to eat. Never seen a dog refuse food like that. I gave her a dose of Nutrical. She also has been having 2 solid poops and 1 mushy one inbetween. It's really weird. She's raw fed with free feed of kibble so she's usually like a rock. She's 6 1/2 months & has all her shots & never has tested positive for any parasites. When I called the vet that's what they seemed to think it was. She's been acting skittish all morning (she ran out the apartment door into the hallway w/o me .... wont let me cuddle her and has her tail tucked between her legs.) and randomly started shaking violently even when I held her. She hasn't eaten anything out of the ordinary( ordinary including a napkin attempt and I'm sure some hair) & her suture line don't seem to be hurting her. Only thing I can think of is that her dad is out of town for the weekend & she hasn't spent a night without both of us in the past 3 months. Perhaps she's Daddy Sick? I have an appointment at the vet @ 3pm. But I always like to come with my homework done. Input?

| Oh I am so sorry that Kasha is sick!!! I don't have any advice, but I do hope the vet can figure it out, glad you are taking her. Perhaps she caught something when she was at the vet for her spay - I know our first dog spent a night at our last vet after a major surgery and came home with fleas - never had even one in all his 9 years before that. Hopefully it's something easy to treat and she'll be up and running soon. Keep us updated!!!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am glad you are getting her to the vet. I would want to make sure she wasn't having any infections or problems with the recent spay. Hope all goes well.

| Thanks for all the good wishes! The vet says that she looks great, no sign of infection or any pain by her incision. They did a blood panel and everything looks very good. So it's most likely her antibiotics bothering her tummy. So my lucky pup is gonna get chicken and rice tonight & hopefully she will eat. Otherwise we will have to do more tests and xrays. Fingers crossed it was just the antibiotics! I'll give a final update after dinner:-)

| Actually ended up stopping at the holistic doggy store and picked up a new flavor for our raw rotation. Tonight she feasted on lamb, plus some frozen peas and a few nibbles of kibble. She ate about half her medallion of meat which is not great but better. I'm hoping for more tomorrow. At least I know that she's had something and seems to have some of her appetite back. - megansmom - she got spayed last Friday :-( and was still taking antibiotics from that. she had her rabies shot in late April.

| Glad she had something to eat and the vet isn't too concerned. If the vet thinks it's the meds she's on from her spay, did he say to stop them? Hopefully tomorrow is a better day for all...

| Yea, she thinks her tummy just had enough of the meds. I had stopped the pain meds Thursday because she was bouncing around like a wind up toy. So starting today she didn't get any antibiotics. I'm glad that the vet looked her over and did blood work so I know that it's not anything she could think of. At this point I'm hoping she's just missing her Daddy (he's enjoying a bachelor party while Mommy worries) but he'll be home tomorrow. Hoping that tomorrow will be a much better day with lots of hungry happy pups!

| Oh, good. I am actually quite surprised they prescribed pain meds for that long! I thought 5 days was long, lol. Our Yorkies are tougher than they think! Keep us updated tomorrow on how she does... hopefully once the meds get outta her system and her daddy comes home she'll start to eat more.

| I was surprised too about the length of the pain meds. But today she ate most of her breakfast and then went out to brunch with me and enjoyed a scrambled egg (and a taste of my pancake too!) I'm now certain it was the antibiotics. Thankful it was only that! She's back to being herself :-)
