| I have to put Guliver down today I am going to the Dr in two hours and I cant stop crying. I had him for almost ten years and today he couldn't even pee. He no longer can stand on his legs and I am so heartbroken. I dont know how to say goodbye even... Now I can understand why people who lost their dogs dont want another one after... So sad! |

It's out of love we have to make this hard decision but you being there is very important. I have the memories burned in my head and if it helps....it's very peaceful and they are no longer suffering.....you will .....and it will hurt your heart for a long time - but eventually ...you can look back ...smile ....and appreciate the memories of the great dog you were blessed to have in your life. I'm so sorry. | |

| So sorry to hear about your painful decision, It's never easy but know that he will be in heaven and healthy as can be waiting for you. It's almost been 1 year since I lost my yorkie girl due to health reasons. It has gotten alot easier but I miss her so much still. Bless your heart. |

| Im so sorry, i know it hurts but we need to do the right thing for our buddies even if its not the right thing for us, I know the pain as I just put my little guy down a few weeks back he was sick and i couldnt fix him, I told him i loved him, that I would miss him he gave me a kiss and i said I was sorry i couldnt make him better and that I would see him agan one day. I dont cry cry much the big thing with me is if i cry its really really bad well i think about him and I cry for the first week I cried so much my face hurt. I have some good friends who loved my dog too,, we had a dinner in honor of my dog and we all told a story of fife we all cried and we all lauaghed, I wrote him a letter, I bought a nice box for him put all his pictures and his fav things in it, it made me feel better, I read about 10 books. I searched online for some support and found a few places the apbl.org has a chat room for people whos pet has died a few nights a week that helped me tons. I hope you know you are doing the best thing for your dog, and try to remember the happy times, I know at first it will be hard but try im sure like my fife your baby would not want you to be sad for long Last edited by fifeandshaffer; 07-07-2010 at 05:16 AM. |

Donating YT Addict | I am so so sorry. but you're being a good momma by making the correct desicion for Guliver. when our 'family dog' died when I was younger we didn't take her to the vet, she died in my Mom's arms & we burried her right next to the house with 3 white Lillies around her, since she was a Bichon Frise & they are white & her name was Lily. & then we had a memorial plaque made(like a dog tumb stone) & laid it over her. it's peaceful to see her grave & every year in may (the month she died) the flowers start to bloom & we know she is still there watching. God Bless you & your beloved Baby Guliver. my prayers are with you. |

| Thank you all for your kind words! The vet told me that there is an option of cremating my Guliver, and I think I might do that because I dont have where to burry him in the downtown area, and the thought of him being underground makes me feel even worse. What I hate the most is that other then the fact that his legs can not function anymore, he is healthy! |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | It is so very hard to make the right decision for an animal you love. Maybe you can have a friend go with you to the vets.
