| Call the vet that gave him an enema. I hope someone close to you posts with an emergency # soon. Are there no ER vets near you?

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Try not to panic. It may be related to the enema. How old is he? Does your vet have an emergency number or a referral after hours to an ER vet? Sometimes when they get stressed they can get colitis but He needs to be seen right away. Try looking online for the nearest er vet. Please keep us posted.

| It could also mean a perforated rectum. Please get him to the vet asap. Hope Deuce is better soon.

| I would also suggest getting him to your vet or emergency vet immediately. Praying for your little one. |

| Sounds like they ruptured a vein, maybe hurt the colon when they gave him an enema. I do hope you can find an emergency Vet. or hospital really quick. Prayers will go out for your baby.

| just back from the SAME vet that gave the enema I called the same vet that gave Deucy the enema today. I STILL don't think he needed one. He is STILL BLEEDING out of his rectum and LOTS of it. It's all over me, him, the car, the house ..the vet met me at his office and said...."it's probably just the infection (which we don't know WHAT infection it is)..I said...he's NEVER bled from his rectum before NEVER...I think it has to do with the enema he got today. He said....all enemas are the same for dogs and people...that's IT. he checked his temp agaiin and it was back down to normal from earlier today. but,...STILL BLOOD..pooping PURE BLOOD. I've NEVER SEEN ANYThing like this. YOu see why I HATE taking him to the VET?????????????? I didn't want to use this vet today anyway because I noticed long ago that he forgets the simplest of things...I KNOW he has alzheimers... I was crying in there....asking what in the WORLD IS WRONG with my baby??? He was as calm as could be. He suggested giving him an antibiotic and no food the rest of the day or night..whatever. So, I got the same liquid antibiotic he was on 2 weeks ago only this time, he says..give it for 14 days..not 7. He says the infection is probably GI tract and is just now getting BAD ENOUGH to start bleeding. ?????????????????????/ I'm SO LIVID and all I wanted was to get Deucy well. I asked him...."what if he's STILL BLEEDING out of his bottom tomorrow???? waht then???? He says, oh, I'll be here tomorrow till noon. OH...I paid for an emergency call tonight too..........for what? Antibiotics and sent home??????????????????????????????? He won't eat anyway. DAMN VETS........I asked him

How long after the enema did he start bleeding? I'm so sorry, wish I could give advice, but if it were me and the vet was like that, I would be taking him to an emergency vet pronto!! If it is bad enough that has you worried this much... please please just go to an ER vet

I agree. He needs an ER vet. If it's not an injury from the enema, it could be HGE. HGE can be fatal unless immediate supportive care is given. Minutes matter with HGE. | |
