| Are you seeing little spots of blood or is it totally bloody? How many times? Gums pink and moist? Any vomiting? Drhinking? When this gets to a certain point, the best option is the ER.

| Nice, now I can never have raspberry jam again. To the OP, blood is always a bad sign. Glad to hear you have an appt tomorrow morning. Usually poop will get soft and mucousy first, then after the continuous diarhhea it strips the mucous away from the intestinal lining and that's what causes the blood. Food change can do this, but did you notice any soft poop first? How fast did you transistion over to the new food?

tomorrow morning pick up fecal in am and put in baggie and put in fridge to take in to vet otherwise they will have to probe up his butt to get stool sample so best to take one in and have the full fecal done - better to be safe when dealing with blood in stool sorry capt noonie lol | |

| ^^^ LOL, that's ok. Yeah, if the vet will accept a poopy that you bring, will be much easier than the tech trying to stick the thing up his sore bottom. Not fun. Please let us know what happens tomorrow. It could be possible that he ate something bad that you didn't see, not just the food change. These guys are so small that just a bit will make them sick. That is why it's so important to get to the vet and find out, and not just wait and see.

| Hi Everyone, Well Mr. Buttons is doing fine today and very happy..We went to the Vet (which he loves..lol) and he told me that he has a bacterial infection from basically bad food..Put him on Antibotic and this will help rebuild his intestinal lining!! And he will be good to go!!!So thank you to all!!! You are all wonderful! |

| It sounds to me, like someone else said, a food change. Kayla will have it everytime I change their food if I am not careful to mix it with the old for awhile. She had to be put on meds for it but did well. I think some maybe just have a more sensitve stomach than others. Hope your baby feels well soon. |

| The Vet said Natural Balance is fine..I do give that to him all the time but the Chicken one..He thinks I got a bad batch of food. Kind of like when we get sick from bad food. He said to just throw it out and go back to the other kind of Natural Balance to be safe...I will let you know what he says about the tests on the poop that will come back. |

| Need Help .... Bloody Stool Hi, I just read your post. I gave my dog one hard boiled organic egg and started a new bag of treats. She started having loose stools...first brown with slime, then darker in color and loose, then a lot of blood like rasberry jam. Her stools have been different colors ... from dark to light brown but this escalated into bright red bloodly pool of feces. I rushed her to animal hospital on Sunday evening. They did basic tests but did not test feces for HGE or Clostridium Perfringens. Charged me 632.00 and could not tell me what was wrong and did not even take an xray. I am so upset. They gave me an antibiotic which she has had 3 doses of but still this morning I had very dark brownish loose stool. Please Help. Can you tell me what Antibiotic your vet gave you that might have helped. What could have caused this? My dog is active as ever, drinking and eating and playing and very happy. The vet said the dog had no pain in stomach so probably did not swallow anything so she did no xray. I need advice or even a contact number if you wouldn't mind.... I am going a bit crazy. My dog's PCV level was slightly elevated but protein was fine. My dog had some vomiting but none in the past 24 hours. She has been on a bland diet of plain chicken breast and rice. My email is ldlconsultinginc@yahoo.com. thanks, LYNN |
