| Bee sting help! I feel like an awful mother, Roxy gets to go outside once a day with big brother for about 5 minutes, and somehow within 5 minutes she got stung by a bee in her little paw I called the vet immdeitely and he said as long as she does not have trouble breathing or rapid heart rate to give her 1.2 ml of bennedrly and monitor her for 24 hours. My question is what if the stinger is still in there she wont even walk on the paw. Should I take her to the vet anyway my vet would rush to the office at any hour of the day for me. Am I just being an overprotective mommy? Any suggestions she has not had an allergic reaction what so ever she whiny.

| I'd take her in if she doesn't start walking on it in the next hour or so, just to be sure. You don't sound like an over-protective mommy at all. You sound like a great one! Hope her boo-boo is all better soon.

| take the stinger out...use a credit card, and slide it sideways...I, actually, just used my finger nails and pulled it out immediately...the longer the stinger is in, the more poison goes into the system... |

| Good! Now just keep an eye on her for swelling, etc. But it sounds like she's going to be just fine.

| Oh yeaaaaaah...My apple got stung in the lip, a couple of weeks ago...I got the stinger out w/in 30 seconds...Glad your BF got the stinger out, and sounds like she's going to be o.k...For goodness sakes, don't feel bad...There's nothing you can do about Mother Nature...Just think about the poor pups that have parents that don't even watch them, and don't even know why their babies aren't well...These things happen....The bees are bad, this time of year...Just make a visual scan of the yard, before you cut the babies loose... |

| Poor little baby, but she will forget all about in soon. Glad you didn't have to take her in. My Azrael came in and acted like she had a horrible itch and couldn't get to it, or a "cling-on", so soon as I started looking thru her hair, I"M the one that got stung on the end of my finger. OUCH! Was still happy it wasn't her. Kiss your baby and make it all better, and maybe a little yummy treat too wouldn't hurt.

| Omg .. speaking of bees. Everyone in TX needs to be aware that there are killer bees in our state. Puppy Saves Other Puppies During Killer Bee Attack - News Story - KVIA El Paso I think I need to post this in the news section.

| Brenda just replied I am deathly allergic to bees so I know how it feels and would not want anyone (or doggie one) to go through that episode. She is sleeping now I keep waking her up to make sure she is okay and she gets so mad. All seems okay now just waiting it out. Thanks everyone

At first I thought she hurt her leg so I grabbed her and ran inside then we got in side and I found the bee in her mouth. I think it stung her and she got mad and bit her paw. I dont know what is worse her paw or her mouth Glad our little apple is okay though. When our babies get hurt it is so SCARY !!
