| I reposted this on sick & injured, sorry this is my first time Emma is a little over five months, her current puppy food is Royal Canin. I believe yesterday she got into the trash and might have ate some things. All i could see she couldve ate was ice cream pops, which if she did it wasnt much because we had just put them there and they basically had the same amount on them when I caught her, I did clean out a toaster with some simple green and I had dumped the bread chunks that were in it over there, and I did catch her eating a rose. About a few hours later, Id say two or three, she threw up, it had a lil of her food in it and liquid. We went to sleep, I woke up this morning and she was gagging and she puked, yellowish looking stuff, she was fine drank water ate some food, played outside like her normal self, and then about an hour and half later she puked up her food. She hasnt ate anything and Im wondering if I should let her... Is this an upset stomach? How can I hel her? Please help me! Also, she has gone pee, no poop yet. |

| It might be best to have your vet look at her. They can pick up bad bacteria from going in the garbage and may need medicine to help her get over it. It might be good too, to run bloodwork on her, to see if she did get anything toxic...

| Thank you so much for your advice! I called the emergency clinic and they told me to try to only give her water for a little and then maybe some rice and chicken later. I gave her water for a couple hours, no vomitting. I gave her a tiny bit of rice and she drank some water and she didnt vomit and then about two hours later she was so hungry and kept going by her food so i figured id give her a little more and see what happened so I mixed the steamed rice with a tiny bit of her puppy food and she has been fine, She even went number two outside. Im gonna monitor her the rest of the night and see how she does tomorrow just with her puppy food if anything does come up Ill take her in. I am so relieved she is doing better and thanks so much for replying to my thread! |

| That is great news! Hopefully it was just the different food that made her tummy upset and it is over. Just keep a close eye on her, but it is very good news that she has ate and went potty

| You can give her a little Pepto-Bismol. Dosage is 1/4 cc per pound of body weight. Also, boiled chicken and rice will help settle her stomach.

| Yes, they told me to make the rice and chicken. I didnt have the chicken on hand so I made her steamed rice and so far its been good. I didnt know the pepto bismol tip, thank you. It just makes me a little nervous, I had a family dog who died because my mom gave her too much pepto and it was horrible on all of us. Im sure she didnt use dosage though. My little girl is taking a nap! I am so happy with all the support on YT, I am so grateful! Everyone is like a lil extended family! Thank you! |
