| It could be a few things. I would be concerned with hypoglycemia ... you should call your vet right away. Let us know how she's doing.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Panting is how some deal with stress, nervousness, or scared. Any chance you had a storm at your house last night? Loud noises? Both of those cause Ramsey to pant.

| agree with this but panting can be a sign of pain too so you may want to touch base with your vet. I always call when anyting seems off with mine. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | Just thought i'd throw this out there because mine started doing this shortly after she turned 2 as well. Morgan will shake and pant like a freak when she is scared. She also tries to climb up to my neck or climb up on top of the couch (which i don't let her do). Then she'll go and hide under the desk or in the bathroom. She does this every time there is a thunderstorm, loud noise, or what i believe to be a change in the pressure/static electricity in the air. You know when you turn the TV off it makes that static sound? well that bothers her too but she doesn't freak out as much for that since its quick and over with in a second. she never did this the first 2 years of life and then shortly after turning 2 this started up. I spoke with a vet behaviorist and she asked how old she was and when it started. When i told her it started shortly after turning 2 she said that was a very common age for these things to happen. i do not remember why or if she told me why though.

| Some dogs are helped by wearing a shirt, it limits/dulls the effect of the electricity in the air.

| my dogs hate the smoke detector. In fact, Rascal goes nuts when I cook bacon, not because he wants some...he wants to go outside because he knows the smoke detector is probably going off. OK, this does say something for my cooking. Yes, he pants like crazy, whines and paces
