| Vomiting most of day, please help! Sammie is 9 years old and has always been in great health. He actually belongs to my sister but he has been living with us for about 6 weeks because my sister works full-time and she knows Sammie gets lots of attention by staying with us. (we are in heaven having him live with us and Sammie is in heaven!!) He has adjusted beautifully since we has came to live with us....he eats, sleeps, runs & plays all day. But yesterday his stool was very lose and today he has been vomiting CLEAR most of the day. (some grass in his vomit) He will not eat or drink. He is very lethargic. (but tail is still wagging and still gives kisses!!) NOTE: no change in his food or diet! He is up to date on his heart worm pill. What should I do? Can I give him anything for his vomiting?

| I am one of those types to take them into the Vet. If he has threw up more than 3 times and you can tell something is not right with him, I personally would take him in. Better safe than sorry. If anything you will leave with some Keopectate, and no issues.

| Get him to the vet. These little ones can dehydrate quickly. Hope he's feeling better soon.

| I agree...get him to the vet. Do you use anything on your lawn for weeds, fleas, bugs etc?? If so be sure to tell your vet. |

| Good. Vomiting all day can be very serious for a Yorkie with the dehydration aspect.

| First of all, thank you for all the concerns for Sammie. The vet spent a lot of time with him but could not pin point exactly what is wrong with him. The vet decided to address the issues at hand....vomiting and diarrhea. (The diarrhea started just as I was leaving for the emergency vet hospital) He was slightly dehydrated so he was given fluid. He was given the following medication: an antibiotic, medicine for vomiting, medicine for diarrhea and medicine to help with his irritated intestines. The vet wants him to stay on a very bland diet for a few days. I just made him chicken and rice...he ate about 1/2 cup. Again, thanks for all the concern! I pray he has a good night!!

| When you say acting lethargic, I think nutri-cal. You rub it on their gums. That's what I've read on YT. You can get it at a pet store. I'd get some to have on hand. It's good that you went to vet. The nutri-cal will buy a little time getting to the vet. Please update in day or so. So we'll know for sure everything is back to normal. |
