| Lower teeth Please help! I noticed this afternoon that my 6 year old girl has only 4 teeth on her lower very FRONT jaw----2 on the right and 2 on the left. The middle tooth is gone! I cleaned her teeth last week and did not notice that one was missing. Please note that her teeth are in good shape and cared for. I wonder if she lost one playing and or chewing on something-----another possibility is the tug of war game we siometimes play w a soft toy-----neither my husband nor I tug hard. I was shocked to discover it missing. Please comment. Thanks for your help. I think a visit to the vet may be in order. DAB |

| I honestly would not be terribly concerned about one tooth missing. Anything could have happened. They do have 42 teeth! Is she due to see the vet for anything? I would say to just wait until then. Has she had dentals? If not, maybe there is something going on and she needs a dental. They usually need them at least once/year.

| Thank you ---missing tooth Thanks so much for your comments. She is due to see the vet for her annual check up in July. However, she has been at the vet 2x this spring because she was scratching herself------the solution was 3/4 teaspoon of children's Benadryl once a day. The pollen here in New England has been terible this year. When I bring her to the vet, he checks her teeth to see that they are OK. I may just bring her to the vet just to make sure she is OK. I can't believe she lost a tooth! Hope your fur baby/babies is/are healthy. DAB |

Be careful if you are using the liquid Benadryl..I just saw something today about a recall on it. I need to look for that and post it. You might want to call your vet...save you from paying for a visit when seriously one tooth is not bad. BUT...If it makes you feel better...go for it. Nice that you care so much about her!

| Benadryl Yes----I heard about the recall this morning on the news. Several manufactures of children's cold and allergy meds are being recalled. Liquid children's Benadryl is on that list. The reason for the recall----quality of ingredients ------ active ingredient amount not correct; there is a higher concentration---inactive ingredients not up to internal testing requirements --- maybe little particles in the liquid medication. I already stopped giving her the benadryl b/c she has not been scratching for a couple of weeks. Hope she doesn't start scratching again. I will need to ask my vet what I should do if she does. Pollen season is not done here yet as I am still waiting for all that yellow pollen powder - like substance to fall from the trees around here----it makes such a mess. My deck furniture is in my garage and will not be put out until the yellow stuff falls and is totally gone. It makes such a horrible mess. Some years are worse than others. I hate to spend too much time outside with my 2 Yorkies when it "snows" yellow pollen! Thanks again for your comments about my little girl's missing tooth. I am going to watch her. DAB |
