| Wont stop scratching Hello All, My baby girl has been scratching none stop. Ive givin her baths and checked for flees and ticks and nothing works. I did a quick google search and got a few possible answers to what it may be. .. i got "food allergys or dry skin." Imma change her food to see if thats it and for dry skin i read that supposeably: avon's 'skin so soft original bath oil spray' will help. But Im not so sure if these are the cause's anyone have something familiar or any advice. thanks

| Take her into the Vet for a look see. Mites, allergies, puritis, dry skin, a lot of possibilities. Have you given her a bath lately? Chenged her food? Played with another dog? When in doubt, go to the vet. Hard to diagnose on-line. Best of luck |

| I'd probaby bring her to the vet. My pup had mites which u really can't see with the naked eye. Vet used Advantage Multi-10 I think and it subsided. Also changing to a high quality food would be helpful. |

| I agree with the others this calls for a trip to the vet. We have been there - best of luck to you as this is distressing for you and your baby.

| One of my furbabies is allergic to yeast....I used to put Missing Link on his food, and he'd scratch until his skin bled. I also feed raw...his skin is perfect now. Also, some dogs are allergic to grain....maybe try a grainless food. There are a lot of good ones out there. Good luck!!!! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Before food allergies, I would first think of seasonal allergies - you can check your pollens on www.pollen.com .

| My Westie has skin allergies and seasonal allergies. Our pollen count here is really high. You don't want it to get out of control; because he ended up with a skin infection from scratching so much. Luckily, we caught that early. He ended up on antibiotics and steroids for the skin infection and overall itching. Our vet prescribed OTC allergy medicine like Zyrtec for really bad days. He has a special cortisone shampoo that I bathe him with to help his skin. It has worked wonders; I take it with him to the groomers even. Mine was really miserable with it; I think your vet could help you with this fairly easily. Good Luck! PS: I wouldn't give any allergy medicine without consulting your vet first. |
