| My baby has heart problems!!!! Saturday my nine month old baby colapsed while we were outside going potty. He was fine and had eaten good that morning but while we were outside he stopped and gagged a few times and then fell over. He was white, couldnt move, and looked dead!! Of course I freaked out and got him to the vet within minutes. Hes EKG was everywhere and the vet said a few more minutes and he would have been dead!!!!! Long story short and a huge vet bill later his heart cant keep rythem like it should. He had been sick a few times in the past and we couldnt figure out what was wrong but the vet says now that it was a result of his heart. He is taking digoxin 2x a day. Has anyone ever had to deal with this before?? He is doing fine right now and you would never guess anything was wrong with him. |

| It's a miracle you were with him when he passed out. Your fast action certainly saved your baby's life. I am so happy to read with meds he should be fine. What a terrible scare that must have been for you. Wishing him only good health for the future. |

| Here is some info on digoxin... Digoxin for Veterinary Use It's wonderful that you were there for him and your quick actions certainly saved his life. My Bijou was diagnosed about 2 years ago with heart disease. In her case, I disagreed with my vet and took her to a clinic out of state for a complete work up. It turned out she had a respiratory infection and no heart disease. I'm only saying this as my vet wanted Bijou to take the drugs (sorry, I don't remember the name) for life. She was only 2 years at the time and I didn't want her to take any unnecessary drugs. While it may be necessary in your case, you have to be mindful of the side effects of any drug taken over a period of time. From what I found, most all these drugs do weaken the heart muscle over time so great care must be taken with them. I hope someone with more info comes on and I wish the very best for your little guy.

| Wow...how scary. Thank God you were there and acted quickly. The only suggestion I have is to have a board certified cardiologist review her case.

| i'm sorry to hear you little one may have heart problems. I do agree with the others about taking him to a more specialized doctor for a second opinion before keeping him on medication for something he may not have. Hope it all turns out ok for him.

| I'm sorry to hear that your baby is having problems. Because this is so serious I think a second opinion couldn't hurt, after all you would do it if it was your heart. I hope your baby stays healthy and lives a full happy life. |
