| Heart Hi I had a question. What can cause a yorkie to have a low heart rate? I have a puppy that went to the vet and they got a 90 reading on her.. Had to go wait in the waiting area.. and some big dogs came in and got a 108 reading on her... but it was a hard to get that reading...went back a week later and they only got a 76. They herd no mummer, and she is breathing good. She eats ok, and she does not play a lot. She is about 15 weeks old. She sleeps a lot. She will play if we have her out, and try to get her to play...other than that .. she would rather just lay on our laps. What is a normal yorkie heart rate... what might cause it to be so low? Thanks for any help! |

| i don't know the answer to your question, but i was told the same thing about my yorkie. they never said that it was a problem, just that it was very slow for a yorkie. hopefully someone can answer your question!!

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | In humans, a slow heart rate is good. Athletes have resting pulse rates around 40. Average is probably 70-80
