Donating YT 500 Club Member | You can give hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting if this happened within the last few minutes. Just a small amount will work. I've put it in a medicine syringe before and squirted into Reno's mouth after he got into breath mints with xylitol. (sp) Contact your vet first!

| I called my vet and she told me that he should be fine. I think he ate anywhere from 1-2 pieces of chocolate. She told me that it wasn't a large amount to be concerned about to just watch for diarrhea and if he has it for more than 24 hours then to bring him in. I can't believe my mother in law would just leave a box of chocolates on her floor!!! DH called her at work to ask her how many chocolates she had left in the box and she said about 11-12 and there are 10 left in the box. Then she tells him that she didn't know chocolate was poisonous to dogs. CMON!!! I told DH that she did know that! I am going to worry for the next 24 hours!!! Oh yeah and the vet told me not to induce vomiting bc it might cause more harm to him. He's just been sitting next to me chewing on a his bully stick. I hope he's ok

| I hope he is alright! I had a Golden retriever once who ate a 1/2 lb of Godiva chocolates and she was fine. Yorkies are small, if it was cheap chocolates it won't be as bad, but I would go to the vet ASAP!!! I will say a prayer for Gizmo.

| I think Gizmo will be fine, because usually those chocolates have alot of filling in it and so its not as bad if it were a solid piece of chocolate. If its just milk chocolate it takes more than you'd think to really hurt the dog. I had that happen to Finnigan when he got a hold of some chocolate kisses. I looked it up and he would have had to have eaten a whole Hershey's bar to really hurt him.

| Oliver got into chocolate a few months ago, I came home from work to find the wrappers shredded on the floor. I was terrified! He ate 2 rather large chocolates and I had no idea if they were milk or dark. He was fine! Never showed any symptoms whatsoever. I'm sure little Gizmo will be ok, too. Just keep a close eye on him!

| Thank you everyone for thinking of Gizmo!! I was soooo worried all night, I kept waking up to check on him to make sure he was still breathing! He did not have any diarrhea or vomiting or any other symptoms and since its been about 24 hours I think we are in the clear! WHEW!! I told him that he cannot scare his mommy like that ever again!!!
