What can i do until Friday? Im am beyond myself. I am afraid for my poor lil baby boy Godric. This morning I woke up and he was not OK. He yelps everytime I get near his face. Or if the other two yorkies seem like they are going to get near him he yelps. He is is just laying there. If I pick him up he give a lil whelp but if I start trying to investigate more around his face its just utterly painful for him. While he is laying there I have felt all over his little body with no response to any pain. Just whe I try to get near his mouth. My emergancy funds were depleted because my daughter dislocated her knee cap so now Im in the process of finding funds somewhere and taking him to the vet. Meanwhile does anybody have any idea, something similar, any advice as to what else to try to see if we can get an idea of whats wrong? Please if anyone can help. I hate to see him like this when just last night he was running around like crazy, having fun with his zoomies! The only thing I know is that my 8 year old said she took him to bed with her last night and this morning I know i remember him not being there with her so did he jump. This is not his characteristic as he is very afraid to jump on or off things. He hesitates when he wants to jump down and when I see that I usually help him down. Thats only an assumption though cause I have know idea. I could ask my daughter if she put him down at some point cause maybe she did and I didnt ask her any ther questions. Please if someone can offer some kind of help or input I would appreciate it. We get paid on Friday but I just dont see waiting til then if I dont see him eat or drink or acting like he is in pain. Like I said if we leave him alone he is not yelping. If he yelps, he is shaking for awhile after that. Im sorry if this doesnt make sense, im worried and my thoughts arent complete, they are just scattered. Thanks

| This is when a great relationship with your vet is an asset. Take your baby in, and offer a post dated cheque. This could be serious, or it could be a loose tooth, but if you can't tell take him in.

Could he have broken his nose in the fall from the bed? If that's the only place he's hurting and was fine before he jumped I would guess that may be it. His teeth are fine right? No infection of inpacked teeth? My guess would be his nose if he yelps in pain when you go near his face.I understand funds are tight but he's hurting and needs to see a vet. When they shake it's because of the pain they are experiencing. Call your vet and see if you can get a care card from them. The Care Card is used for medical issues both human and pet and they will give you a credit line when you apply. Or apply right on line. Please get him to a vet. Perhaps the vet will allow you to give him a check and post date it to Fri. I'm sorry your pup is hurt but it's a responsibility to give him the vet care he needs when he needs it. Good luck,

Can he eat..perhaps his jaw is broken. Will your vet take a post dated check..?..or quite frankly, I would ask the vet to treat my dog and board him until Friday before I would allow him to suffer..but I know you are between a rock and hard place, so sorry.

Thats a great idea! Oh and Just to update...i offered some cheese to him and he took. He ate several pieces. He just moves slowly. He will also walk without yelping. He kinda looks like when my kids sleep wrong and they turn their whole body to look at you when you call their name.

Update I took little Godric to the vet and when we get there, the vet opens his mouth and he shows no signs of pain. I explained to her how he would yelp. As she is feeling around his face (mind you no yelping) she says that his lymph nodes were swollen. She gave him an antibiotic and a pain med called Rimdayl. She also gave him a shot of fluids with some vitamins because I told her I hadnt seen him drink. He was not showing signs of dehydration but just to be safe. She said if he wasnt any better tomorrow she wanted to see him again. All that and when we get home, i set him in my room and let him rest. After about 30 minutes, I checked on him and he was doing it again, Yelping when were near his mouth. I gave him is anti biotic and his pain med so hopefully it helps him and he is better tomorrow.

Now that is a mystery. Just want you needed instead of answer's. Hope the pain meds clears up whatever he's feeling and no farther visit will be necessary. It's so stressfull when they get sick but not to know what's wrong after a vet visit is more so. Finger's crossed he's back to himself in a day or so.
