| Red, bleeding bump Hi Everyone. I just discovered a red bump in between Howie's shoulder blades. There was crusted blood in his hair but it doesn't appear to actively be bleeding. It looks similar to a zit and is raised off of his skin. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it because I cleaned the blood off and he didn't flinch at all. I have no clue how this could have happened because he's usually wearing a sweater of some sort in the house. And there's no way he could have reached that spot with either his mouth or his feet to cause that. I attached a picture of the bump. What do you think it could be? Is it worthy of a trip to the vet??

| If you look at my photo album you will see I had a similar thing with Milo.Of course I panicked and took him to the Dr. It turned out to be a scratch with a scab. We went to the Vet and she told me just to watch it and eventually it will fall off well yesterday it did. Quote:

| Thanks for the response! I'm like you - in a total panic! And you know what's weird? I woke up at the crack of dawn this morning because I had a nightmare that Howie got lost. Yikes I guess it was a sign that something was wrong with him! I called two vets, my vet that I loved from where I used to live and my new vet. New vet said to bring him in because it might be a ruptured cyst and old vet said it's probably nothing and to put Neosporin on it. I'm going to go with old vet for the time being. It's literally the size of a pimple so I don't think it's a cyst. Quote:

| Glad I could ease your mind just a little. I noticed Milos on a Sunday afternoon while petting him all sorts of things crossed my mind LOL. Silly me it at least I know for next time. I to would just watch it for a couple of days as long as there is no wet blood, nothing else coming out of it and it is not bothering it. |
