| Constipation of blockage-Please Help so this may be long.....I received Miracle's allergy results back on Saturday and it says she is allergic to Potato, dairy, kangaroo, beef, etc. and a few other things, the food I was feed her was Natural balance duck and potato. I talked with one of the Vet Techs as Miracle vet was not in and asked them if the number's made a difference, they told me NOT to feed her anything that has a number, which meant Turkey, Venison and a few other items. No barley, no potato of any kind. Anyway, I found Wellness Turkey, Vension (raw) so I asked if it would be ok to mix this along with her current food as not to upset her tummy. I was told by the girl at the store, yes. She ate that Saturday night and Sunday morning, gobbled it down. Would not eat Sunday night. She was being quite and lazy Sunday night but I just thought she was tired. I was gone all day Sunday until around 5:30. She was under the care of my boyfriend and son in law. Monday she did not wake me up to go the bathroom and would not eat. Her tummy is hard, very hard. I took her in and the vet said she has a sore tummy and she was a little dehydrated. He gave her some nausea med and a shot to add to water to her. She ate a little last night but only if I put human turkey in it and was walking around a bit. She woke me up this morning to go but she has not pooped since Sunday morning. I am starting to really worry. She is drinking water and she will eat if I put turkey in her food. I gave her 1 TBSP of pumpkin this morning but still nothing. She has slept most of the day but is not being active. I am at work buy my daughter is home with her. She has no fever, is not vomiting. I am taking her back to the vet tonight. Any advice????? Please!!!!

| So I took Miracle back to the Vet and it seems as though her anal glands were swollen and infected. I feed her premium dog food so I'm not sure why. When they probed her to do an x-ray all kinds of poop came out. She also has a slight fever so they sent her home with an antibiotic as everything else seems good. Her stomach was no longer hard and she was her normal self. We came home and she was starving jumping up and down to eat. I feed her Wellness Turkey, that's it just turkey along with Natural balance duck and potato (which I am weaning her off since she is allergic to potato) and her stomach feels hard again. Is there anyway the turkey is causing a problem for her? I know it's not the natural balance as she has been eating that for almost two months and has never had a problem.

| Try giving her canned pumpkin. I'm sure she will adjust to the new food eventually but meanwhile pumpkin might help her to poop. |

| If the pumpkin does not work you can give her Metamucil. Also green beans have the most fiber. Give about 1/8 tsp Metamucil per meal till she is pooping well. You want the Metamucil ( Clear & Natural ) |

| Some dogs can't tolerate turkey. Trying feeding her just venison and see if her tummy issues clear up. |

| Blood cannot determine allergy only elimination diet can determine a food allergy. Blood can only determine environmental allergies. |

I think you are right, I fed her the turkey last night and her tummy was instantly bloated. She pooped this morning but it was hard. I talk to the vet and he said give her 24 hours that is how long it takes to process through her body. boy, I wish they could talk to us and tell us how they feel.

I gave her a TBSP of pumpkin yesterday and it did nothing until the vet probed her I did give her more today and NO turkey. I don't even want to try to have her get used to it, her tummy gets so hard and when you pick her up she whines. It's just no worth the time it would take for her to get used to the food.

| When I went to the vet with the puppies they told me if the puppies get conspated(sorry I am worlds worst speller) to give them a little kayro dark syrup. Don't know if that would work for adult dogs or not but thought I would throw it out there. Hope she gets better soon! |

Better than Mylanta... a product made for human babies... key ingredient is simethicone... ask your vet for dosage.
