| Crystals in Urine A few months ago Luna had a UTI with crystals. She has bloody pee once again, the vet sent a sample to the lab on Friday. We go back on Monday to discuss treatment. I wanted to educate myself on diet options, I am pretty sure he is going to suggest the Science Diet he has for sale in the lobby. Does Wellness have a comparable choice? If I remember right, the crystals she has are the kind that can indicate stones and are called oxalate? Is this genetic? Any advice/help/suggestions/wisdom or knowledge? Thanks

| I'm sorry. I meant to answer this awhile ago. I believe that with calcium oxalate crystals, she will need to eat low oxalate foods. In my opinion, when crystal and possible stones are involed, it may be a good time to consider rx food.

| Hi. My baby had and still has this issue. I also had a urinalysis done but her's came back negative. I picked up some crystals from her urine the other day and the vet is going to let me know for sure what type of crystals she had. Did you vet say calcium oxalate or struvite crystals? For struvite crystlas, I heard that giving Naturvet cranberry supplement helps. For the calcium, I don't know much about that. The vet had said they were struvite for my baby, so I read up on those and asked questions on YT. My baby didn't like the prescription food. I started giving her cooked chicken or ground beef, in plenty of water, to increase her water intake. She eats her regular kibble during the evenings. It seems to help. But every once in a while, I see the crystals again, usually when I add veggies to her diet, so that's out. I hope your baby is doing well and that you get more informative responses.
