| Stinky discharge One of my foster dogs (spayed female) has a really stinky brownish discharge coming from her peepee. She seems fine she really isnt even licking it much. She is playing and acting fine. I pushed around on her belly and she doesnt seem to have any pain or swelling??? Anyone hever had anything like this?

| I hope she'll be ok too. She's spayed, so it's not pyometra...the only thing that comes close to describing her condition is this: A defect and open communication (fistula) between the rectum and vagina may lead to the passage of watery fecal material from the vagina. When you're ready to talk about her or if you already have, give me the link. It sounds like she has quite a story to tell...she's so lucky to have you!

| I am sorry to hear about your little girl, I hope you can find out what it is soon, have you seen/spoken to the vet about it. They may have some ideas of what it could be. Just wanted you to know we are thinking about you and hope she is better soon.

I haven't started a thread about Maria because she came to me needing LP surgery on possibly both knees. Turns out only one needed it. The other is a grade 2. She is on the website but has not been available for adoption until this week because we wanted her to be fully recovered from surgery. We dont know alot about her past she came from a shelter extremely matted and very underweight. She is 1-2 years old and has already had babies. She seems to have been abused, she has alot of characteristics of a dog that has been living in a cage without alot of human contact however she is very smart and young and seems to be adapting to the good life very quickly. She is so sweet and wants so badly to please. She has been such a joy to have in our home. She had to be confined for 6 weeks after her knee surgery and we were so worried about how she would do being so young...she was amazing she never once complained...she really is a little angel. I attached a pic of little Maria. I will update on monday after she see's the vet

| The rescue ones, particularly from puppymills, are tough and we are pulling for her. Six of our pack are rescues, I failed fostering a lot! |

| Update on Maria she has an abcess on her peepee just inside so the vet thought its possible a bug may have bit her. Not sure how a bug would get in there but who knows. But the good news is its not a big deal. Some antibiotics and daily cleaning and she will be fine. Im so relieved. When the vet examined her and saw the discharge she looked up at me and said this isnt good, I felt such a sick feeling, then when they examined further and took the urine sample she saw the huge abcess. Thank you everyone for help

| Hi I am so happy for you that it is nothing serious and can be treated with anti-biotics, I can only imagine how you felt when the vet hadn't seen the absess yet, I am so relieved for you. I hope your little one is better soon.
