| FHO Surgery My little boy MAX also needs this surgery. MAX is 14 months old and it is his right hip. The Orthopedic Surgeon told my wife and I that the blood vessel going to his hip was restricted. Because of this, the hip did not develop the way it should have. I would like to thank everyone who shared their experience. Although it is still a hard decision to make for such a young puppy, your feedback really does help. Thank you, RichandMAX |

| My Sasha had this done last year. I don't know who it was harder on - her or me. It tore me apart to see that little shaved hip with such a big cut on it. But our babies are a lot tougher than we are. She came through it with flying colors just as I am sure your Max will. Just make sure to follow the vets orders for recovery and slowly but surely he will be fine. Before the surgery they are in pain with every step they take but they have never known anything else so it is hard to tell they are suffering. They just want to enjoy life. Once the healing is done Max will live a pain free life. The only time I see any signs of the surgery is when we are outside and Sasha goes into a full run, once in while she will lift that leg. Otherwise she is a happy vibrant sometimes bratty furbaby. We will keep you both in our prayers.

| Our Zeus had this surgery a little over a year ago. He is perfectly fine. I will notice him pick the leg up sometimes (especially if he's cold), but other than that, no difference at all. Our baby, Perseus, more than likely needs this surgery. He goes back for his 2nd set of x-rays on January 19. He will be more stressful than Zeus, because he will have to wear the cone of shame. Zeus never once tried to touch his sutures and never wore the cone of shame. Good luck to you and your baby! |
