| poor mimi my poor mimi is 3 months old. She used to be a fun feisty puppy. Recently she jumped out of her wagon which she had never done before. Although it was only 1 foot high it appeared as though she was limping. Within 15 min she was running around as if nothing had happened. 2 days later she started to act differnent she wasnt her normal self, she was very quiet and looked tired. By the next day Mimi was not walking right she seemed dizzy and weak she would walk as if she could barely hold herself up and sometimes she would even sort of fall over. Her symptoms seemed as if she were really sick instead of symptoms from the wagon fall and she did throwup once and has not urinated in 2 days that i know of. I took her to the vet and they said theyd have to keep her overnight and do x-rays and bloodwork and it would be $800 I was a little unsure of the vet and his assistant. I also felt a little uncomfortable and was told to get a second opinion. If they tell me again that it will cost that much to diagnose her I will pay for it, my MIMI is worth it but I just felt that the vet was trying to take advantage of my lack of knowledge considering this is my first dog ever. Is this normal? plus I will also have to pay for any surgery, medication and hospitalization aside from the $800.I have been giving her nutrical every day and she gets better for a little while then she starts walking sort of with her tail dragging then sometimes with it up in the air. PLEASE HELP Ive been told it may be something minor or something serious I dont want to waste any more time but I need to know if its happened to anyone and if the wagon fall and her behavior are related. I just need help im so frustrated and I dont want to waste $800 for them to tell me she has Hypoglycemia or depression as they did to my friends puppy. | Im not sure if she landed on her head it was so quick. Im terrified it may be something as serious as brain damage, she is ok at times but sometimes she lays there looking almost life less and the next minute shes running around in circles. |

| Well, Welcome to YT, it's a great forum! I'm so sorry your Mimi isn't feeling well. Maybe you should just try different vets, until you find one you are comfortable with. Keep us posted, and good luck with your baby

| Benni and his overdose cost me almost $2000 and that was with no tests, just treatment. Vets are outrageous which is why I bought insurance. It does not cover everything, for instance, it covered all but $50 of Garrett's most recent skin problem, plus I had to pay for the shampoo, but still less than it would have. |

| poor Mimi Mimi is not doing to great she is scaring me to death. Earlier she was asleep and when she tried to get up she just laid back down as if it were too difficult to do. I gave her Nutrical and within a few minutes she was racing through the house as if she were on a race track it scared me to tears because she was running so fast shed almost crash into the wall, couch, or table. I couldnt understand why she was acting that way. She almost looked as if she were going crazy. She wouldnt let us pick her up, shed take off running and shed run in the same course over and over. She even looks traumatized. I feel so confused I have decided to take her to the vet again tomorrow morning. I have gone from thinking she had hypoglycemia to parvo to a broken leg or hip, now I really believe she is constipated. When she finishes eating she looks as if she has to go and she starts to shake. Then she cries as if something hurts her. Now she is asleep but it breaks my heart to see her this way. I spoke to another vet whos a friend of my sisters. He said we should test her glucose. It sounds like that could be the problem. So that is were we are taking her tomorrow. Im so sad |

| poor Mimi I fear it is something more serious. Thanks so much for your help I have felt a little better knowing I can get help or opinions from other YorkieLovers. GusGus is so cute. If thats all him in your Yorkie album he looks just like my Mimi except shes always wearing pink. Shes a girly girl, ok maybe I am. You know what the most horrible part of all of this is, I feel very guilty for putting my family through this. The reason is because when I went to choose between her and her brother(which now belongs to my friend)I chose Mimi because she was a tiny adorable-faced little girl. I thought to myself the smaller and cuter the better. I walked away with a vision of Mimi and I both in pink walking by and everyone stopping to admire her. I awaited her anxiously like a mother waits for their child to come home. That is exactly how it was in the beginning until I started to feel a soft spot on top of her head, I asked the vet about it and he said it should close by 3 months. Well Mimi's 3 months and It hasnt closed all the way. The vet said it may be a birth defect and that is why she is so small, he also said she is to be treated like a baby and that she may have other complications in the future if she is not well taken care of. I wish I hadnt been so selfish. But I love Mimi and will do whatever it takes to make her better . |

| Gus is a tiny guy too 2.9 lbs and he too has a tiny soft spot on his head I think it's common in the little ones. It has closed somewhat but it's still there. I would have never known till someone made a thread about it here. I did ask my vet about it and he said that it should close but there are cases where they just don't. Are you thinking she landed on that part of her head? Don't feel guilty! I too am awaiting a baby girl. I love Gus with all my heart but I really really want a baby girl for all the reasons you do. All I can say is get her checked out asap so you can know what's going on. I will keep her in prayer tonight! Please keep us posted!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | PLEASE call around OR maybe you can work something out with your vet ? I would take her in if she's acting this differently - when they're this small - they can crash fast and you don't want to lose her ....I know money can always be an issue but we are responsible for them when we bring them home and I know you'd be devestated if you didn't bring her in and something happened....Poor little girl - I know you must be very worried...for your peace of mine and possibly her life - I would really think about making an appointment somewhere right away. PLEASE call a vet - if you don't like your vet - try another !! I wish you and Mimi the very best of luck and it may be something that might not cost that much - but I would get her looked at asap. |

| Im so sorry your going through this with your little girl.. I hear the love you have for her in your words and it breaks my heart.. I agree, if you are not comfortable with your vet then try another. It may be sugar levels since the nutracal seems to make such a difference.. Please keep us posted on Mimi.. I hope she is back to her old self soon. |
