| Ginger is losing hair. Ginger is our 10 month old Yorkie/Poo and weighs five lbs (she also has a sister Gabby who is 12 lbs and looks more like the poo in poodle...interesting). Ginger has lost hair on her right hip a patch about the size of a quarter. We have noticed that her two hind paws appear light pink between the center nails. She also has small bald spots appearing on her right side of her nose. Additionally, her eyes seem to be tearing an awful lot in comparision to the past. Last but not least she seems to be constantly itching herself or twisting her head on the carpet frequently. This is my first time on this forum and I was wondering if anyone might have some ideas as to what is wrong? We have certainly considered allergies or perhaps a bug bite or skin issues. Taking her to vet in the morning, however, I figured that someone who owns a yorkie or yorkie/poo might have "experience" with this sort of issue. Thanks alot and this forum is really great and informative. Keep up the info sharing. Kathy |

| Our old Ginger used to get 'hot spots' at various times of the year. It wound up being a parasite and she'd chew or scratch until that area was bare. The vet recommended a treatment, but darned if I can remember what it was. It cleared her up though. I'll check and see if Mom remembers. |
