YorkieTalk Newbie! | My yorkie can't keep his eye open! Hello everyone! I'm new in this forum & I hope I can get replies in order to make Jake (my yorkie) feel better. This morning we gave him a bath & after we noticed that he can't seem to keep his left eye open & it's watering, he sometimes rubs it with his paw & starts whining. We think that some of his shampoo might have gotten into his eyes! Please can you give me some advise on what I should do?? At the moment its saturday afternoon here & im not really sure if i can still find a vet open! Please I look forward for your advise. Thank you |

| I would try to flushing his eye with distilled or purified water. Where I live there is lots of chlorine in the water and that will only further irritate the eye. I would then call the vet and just have him check it out. What type of shampoo did you use? |

| Flushing sounds like the best bet to me. I hope he gets to feeling better!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | If he's still having problems you need to take him to the vet's. They will put "dye" in his eye to determine if he's scratch it and if so he needs medicine to heal it. Eye injuries are very serious and treating them quickly can help eliminate the possibility of losing sight or the eye itself.
