| HELP! Runny poo for a week now Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone could help me out. Chloe is about two years now. She is a yorkie and weighs about ten pounds. She is acting TOTALLY normal but I have noticed EVERYTIME she has gone potty over the past week it has been just loose or total diarrhea. She has not had a solid poop. I am going to take her to the vet today if I can get an apointment but Im just wondering whats going on. It is also yellow at times??? I would have had her at the ER a long time ago but it wasnt like she was acting sick(that has happened befoer when she was very sick and could barely stand up bc she was so weak and i took her but she isnt acting like that) or anything along those lines. I give her Nutro(the chicken, rice and lamb one) for food so I know thats a good brand so I dont think its the food. I have noticed she is not eating it much lately and all she wants is bones and things like that. Im just worried and Want to know if anyone else has experienced something similar. Also..it may be by total conicidence but my boyfriends Shephard Mix(95 lbs) basically lives with me bc him and Chloe are like best friends and I like her to have a dog there with her during the day to keep her company. Well I woke up this morning to a HORRIBLE smell....he had pooped IN the house and you can ONLY imagine how nasty it was comuing from a 95lb dog that was runny. I almost DIED! Jack NEVER goes potty in the house. The only other time he ever did waswhen he had a virus i think. Point is....could it be something contagious? let me know! THANKS! |

| I would change the food. Nutro has been linked to illnesses even death in some dogs. It is good you are taking her to the vet because runny stools can lead to dehydration which can be fatal

You can see Consumer Affairs for the reports on Nutro. Anytime a Yorkie has diarrhea, they are at risk for dehydration and then electrolyte inbalance which can lead to cardiac arrest. She needs to be seen immediately.
