Donating YT 500 Club Member | I recently changed his food so I'm going to check when I get home. I feel SO bad for him He's not had this before, though he was testing for giardia once and had that but he recovered VERY quickly!

| well pancreatitis is very serious so go back to what was working and keep your fat content as low as can be so compare the two fat contents. Make sure they did cpli test add on to blood work-- how do they suspect it was he vomitting like crazy? was his amylase and lipase high? How about triglycerides? |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I had them both on this Natural Diet food but switched to an organic one I found cheaper. I will switch back ASAP. I have a five and six year old so it's possible he got some people food. I'll have a serious talk with them both when I get home, they will understand hopefully after seeing Guinness so sick I took him in last week for the vomiting and he said he'd seen quite a few sick dogs recently, so he wanted to treat him for the vomiting and see if it got better. He gave him an antibiotic shot. Since he's still sick and it's yellow/green and he's not eating, he wants to run the full bloodwork and suspect it's the pancreas, we aren't 100% sure yet. It sounds like it could be from what I've read so far. I go in after work and talk to the vet. He will fill me in on all the details. During this time, he's getting an IV and meds to stop the vomiting and give his system a break. I'm so glad I have YT to ask questions. I will certainly need the help if it's pancreatis or not Poor bubby Does it matter that his sister who weighs less than he does is on the same food but not affecting her? She gets more scraps because she's sneaky and found a way to get food from teh table by climbing on the kids chairs.

| I have 3 dogs 2 yorkies and a maltese and they all ate the same thing and only he got pancreatitis but he does have high triglycerides on a 12 hr fast blood panel so he is predisposed just as all yorkies are. Be very careful as once they get it it is real easy to get it again so you have to be very strict now. never saw green vomit with dex so not sure what that is about sounds like infection if green though |

| Please keep in mind that a full blood panel is only going to show the amylase and lipase levels and is not a definitive diagnosis for pancreatitis. They vet needs to do the Spec cPL test (which he needs to be fasting 12 hours to do). The cPL, TLI, folate and cobalamine levels are all needed to acurately diagnose pancreatitis and can also tell if there is something else going on.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Thanks guys. I'll ask him about it. They spoil him rotten there so I know he's in good hands until I see him. I just hate he could be in pain and not have made one noise.

| another thing to watch for is tossing and turning and not getting comfortable as that is a real sign of pancreatitis as they are in pain and cannot get comfortable |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | well I just called to check on him. I talked to the vet, he said he got the vomiting under control, no more and he has a board certified technician coming in tomorrow and will do a free U/S. I know it's not enough from above but it's to rule out other things I didn't get to speak to him very long I didn't expect he'd come to the phone anyways. I get to pick him up tonight and drop him off again in the morning I'll update when I get home later after talking to him.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | wow the bill was $415 yesterday but today he's getting a free $300 u/s His liver, kidneys and pancreas levels came out okay. His Chloride is super low but that's due to vomiting. He's lost about 6oz He came home with a cathetar wrapped up and looking like he'd been through the wringer. Zoe went out wiht him and tried very hard to cheer him up, he genuinely looked happy to see her and tried to perk up a bit. He spent the evening in my lap and then during the night slept on his blanket. He did drink and teetee so that's good. I'm waiting on the call for the u/s results. I'm praying he has no blockage
